Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, member representing Ibarapa East state constituency in the Oyo state House of Assembly, may emerge as Speaker of the ninth Assembly today.
Governor Seyi Makinde Over the weekend made proclamation for the beginning of the Assembly this morning.
According to reports, it was learnt that all odds Favoured the 32-year-old Lawmaker to become the State’s speaker.
These factors include a combination of party affiliation, zoning consideration and experience.
The Section 2 (3a) of the House also favoured the Ibarapa born Lawmaker.
The rule stipulates that “a member-elect shall propose another member-elect with legislative experience as a member of the House of Assembly to be Speaker, and move that such member-elect do take the chair of the House as Speaker of the House of Assembly.”
Only four members satisfied this rule and they include Wumi Oladeji, Action Democratic Party (ADP), Oyeleke Adebola and Ashimiyu Alarape of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
