Crusade Rocks Ghana, as Apostle Suleman Marks Birthday (See Photos)

The Ghana, Accra edition of the ‘Help From Above’ crusade may have been ended, but the frills and thrills of the two-day divine encounters will remain on the radar for a long time to come. Indeed, it was a one-in-a-life-time experience God believing Ghanaians would not forget in a hurry.

The Oracle of God and president of the Omega Fire Ministries worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman, with his wife, Reverend (Dr.) Lizzy Suleman and a host of OFM ministers, moved the Apostolic train to the former Gold Coast country on Monday, 20th of March for the holy conference which came to a fulfilling end on Tuesday, 21st of March 2017. As God moved, attendees who stormed the venue of the event from the nooks and crannies of Ghana were more than amazed at the wonders God performed through His able servant.

Apostle Suleman during the conference did not only pray that people’s destinies were restored and their health and financial wellbeing buoyed, he also used a special session of the programme to bless Ghana that God make the country great again. He prayed for President Nana Akuffo Addo, his vice, all the parliamentarians and mayors; he blessed Ghanaian businessmen and women, the public servants and the professionals, praying that the wisdom to make Ghana great again in the comity of nations be released upon her citizens.

As the man now referred as ‘Lion of Africa’ progressed in the divine programme, thousands were led to Christ Jesus and received His mantle to shatter the wrong foundations of their life. “Any tree that is not of God in your life, by this encounter it is uprooted”, Apostle Suleman demanded of God as he led the flocks in supplication.

In a surprise manner, the OFM Ghana used the occasion to celebrate Apostle Suleman whose birthday comes up every 24th of March. A giant cake was presented and superb praise and worship songs held. And as the programme came to a close with the symbolic handing over of Ghana’s national flag for consecration, the man of God blessed the mass choir of the OFM Ghana with the sum of $1000 (one thousand US Dollars) for their steadfastness and brilliant presentation.

The attention is now focused ultimately on Apostle Suleman’s birthday celebration in Nigeria. The celebration day is Sunday, 26th of March, 2017 and Apostle Suleman has promised to use the thanksgiving service to bless more souls both in holiness and materially. As the grand event holds at the Auchi, Edo State headquarters of the OFM on Sunday, the world appears ready to celebrate the man called “The Voice of the Gospel.”

Fulani Herdsman R*pes 70 Years Old Widow In Ebonyi (See Photos)

Women from Isu community in Onicha area of Ebonyi State on Wednesday stormed Abakaliki to protest the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the area and the r*pe of a 70-year-old widow.

The women carried placards with different inscriptions such as ‘Fulanis have destroyed all our crops and polluted our rivers and ponds’, ‘Fulanis have humiliated us’, among others.

They said a herdsman r*ped a 70-year-old widow, resulting in her going into a coma.

The leader of the protesters, Florence Okoro, said the herdsman sneaked into the old widow’s house while she was preparing her evening meal and r*ped her.

Okoro, who added that the hands and legs of the old widow were broken in the process, appealed to the state government and security agencies to protect their women.

Addressing the women, the state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Augustine Nwankwegu, condemned the r*pe of the widow and the destruction of farmlands by herdsmen.

He assured the protesters that government would take action against the perpetrators of the crime.

He added that Governor David Umahi had directed that the culprits be fished out and prosecuted.

The commissioner said, “The governor has heard this and asked me to look for a way to catch the man (r*pist) so that he would be punished accordingly.

“We have gone to the police and they told us they were on the way to bring him (r*pist) to Abakaliki. I’m promising you that by Monday, he would be arraigned in court. You will come and see him because what he has done is wrong.”

Meet Lady Who Emerged Best Graduating Student In Lagos After Failing JAMB 6 Times (See Photos)

Elizabeth Orefuwa, the best graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU), wrote the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination 7 times before gaining admission into the institution.

Orefuwa graduated with a cumulative grade point average of 4.74 in accounting education at the 21st convocation of LASU.

The chartered accountant on Wednesday said she would have given up on her dream of pursuing university education but wanted to satisfy her father.

Orefuwa said she became an associate accountant in 2010.

“When I eventually secured admission to LASU, my aim was not to be the best graduating student. I just wanted to satisfy my dad’s yearning,” she said.

“The journey through the institution was not easy; it took me seven years of writing the UTME before I finally gained admission in 2012.

“I also applied for direct entry three times at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

“During this period of waiting, I started professional career at the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2007 and became qualified as an Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) in 2010.”

Orefuwa, who is pregnant, got married at the beginning of her final year.

“I had a CGPA of 4.72 before marriage and I graduated with 4.74. I got married during my final year in 2015 and my husband was very supportive throughout that period,” she said.

All the best graduating students were women apart from Shobowale Olumide Adekunle, the best graduating student in the faculty of engineering.

Lawal Amidat Abiola was the best graduate of the faculty of law while Oshikomaya Christy Kemi emerged best from the school of transport.

Oduntan Saidat Abimbola and Bello Adebola Oluwadamilola emerged best in the school of communications and college of medicine respectively.

Herietta Ugwoma led the faculty of social sciences while Oyerinde Faith Temilola was the brightest graduate from the faculty of science.

Lanre Adigun Fagbohun, the vice-chancellor, said there were 36,481 graduating students.

Female Police Officer Attacked Sisters With Machete (See Photos)

The Zone 5 Police Headquarters has commenced investigation into an alleged machete attack by a female police operative on two women in Isoko South area of Delta State.

The victims; Erowo Ekere, her sister, Joy, had in a petition through their lawyer, Dele Igbinedion, accused woman sergeant Edith Agholor of brutalising them with a machete while under detention at Oleh Police Station on December 29, 2016. What happened?

The sisters want police authorities to take disciplinary actions against the sergeant and three others and also demanded N100m compensation or face legal action within seven days.

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 5, Abubakar Muhammed, who spoke shortly after the decoration of 49 newly promoted officers on Tuesday, said though the accused officer had denied the allegation, she would be investigated before being arraigned if found culpable.

The AIG, who spoke through the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, Emeka Iheanacho, said, “The matter is with us; we have gone far with our investigation. The woman police on her part denied but we have called for more witnesses. So at the end of the day, we are going to address the press.

“The woman police officer has been invited and has made a statement and the woman that was inflicted with machete cut injuries has equally made a statement. So, we are calling for all the witnesses that saw the incident.

“If at the end of the day, it was established that the woman sergeant actually did that, we will subject her to our disciplinary measure before taking her to court.”
