3 Friends Found With Human Skull In Ekiti State Have Been Arrested By Police
The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested three men for allegedly being found in possession of a human skull.
The suspects – Muhammed Isiaka, Ismaila Okoro and Abidemi Awolusi – were said to have been arrested with the skull and some weapons, including charms.
The state Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Chafe, said the suspects were arrested by men of the Operation Flush at Igirigiri, a farmstead in Ado Ekiti, describing them as kidnappers and armed robbers who had been terrorising Ekiti in recent times.
The suspects were among several others paraded by the police at the command headquarters.
Also paraded for armed robbery were;
Tope Falua, Olaoluwa Fagbamila, Gbenga Faleye and Kehinde Adejuwon.
“We recovered charms and Indian hemp from Adejuwon’s premises while conducting a search on the premises,” Chafe said.
He said his men also arrested one Oyewumi Tope and Olayiwola Faluru, while allegedly siphoning diesel on the premises of the Ekiti State Water Corporation.
The police also paraded one Olusoji Damilola, who was allegedly caught at the scene of a robbery, where a petrol station’s attendant, Oluwadare Adebayo, was robbed of N1.2m.
“We will not rest until we ensure that our people can sleep with their two eyes closed. And these people will be charged to court soon,” the CP said.

Woman Cries Out For Justive Due To Her Husband's Long Detention
A housewife, Saratu AlHassan has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, to prevail on policemen at Area 10, Garki, Abuja, to release her husband who has remained in police detention since last Tuesday.
She said his continuous incarceration has brought untold hardship to their family, adding that his 70-year-old mother, who is unaware of the situation, is worried because she has neither spoken to nor seen him since.
Mr. Yusuf AlHassan, a Lagos-based businessman and stockbroker, was arrested at the behest of a former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), following an alleged business transaction that turned awry.
According to Saratu, the man, who was a friend to her husband before he became SEC’s DG, invested some money in AlHassan’s company and usually calls her husband to send money to different individuals, all of which were documented.
“But because he went broke, the former DG woke up and claimed that my husband stole his money, that the money he invested didn’t yield profit.
“My husband was first arrested in December and flown to Abuja, where they kept him for some days before he was granted bail.
“He showed the policemen the documents of transactions and the errands he was running for the man but they didn’t listen because a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) was backing him. Because of the man, my husband’s importation company became bankrupt.
“Besides, he would also demand that money be sent to certain people; he virtually turned my husband to his errand boy. My husband barely had time for the business because he was helping his friend to succeed. See the way the man now wants to repay him.
“After he was released in December, the man claimed that the money he invested then and the accrued interest had amounted to about N75m, and my husband must pay. My husband denied owing him but the [police is still detaining him].
"I am Not Not Detained, I Reports At DSS Office Daily" – Ifeanyi Ubah Says
Owner of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Ifeanyi Ubah, has said that he reports at the headquarters of the Department of State Services in Abuja daily and that he is not being detained.
Ubah, who spoke in a telephone interview with Punch in Abuja on Sunday, confirmed that the DSS was mediating in a financial dispute he had with the NNPC.
During the phone call, he said he was on his way to the DSS office, where he said there would be a reconciliation meeting between him and the officials of the NNPC.
He said he's grateful to the DSS for intervening in the matter, adding that he would make a public statement to thank the security outfit on Monday.
“I go there every day. I’m on my way there now. We have a reconciliation meeting with them today. I will make a statement tomorrow (today) to thank DSS for being able to resolve the issue,” he said.
Ubah is being interrogated over the claim by the NNPC that it had N11bn worth of Premium Motor Spirit stored in facilities of his company.
The NNPC had written both the DSS and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, asking them to help it to recover the said amount.
The NNPC said it stored the PMS with the amount in the facilities of Capital Oil and Gas Limited.
It alleged that the product was stored in the facility under a special arrangement, which it claimed was breached by Ifeanyi Ubah.
NNPC claimed that Ubah sold the product without its permission and refused to remit the money.

Robbers Killed South African Man Three Weeks After His Wedding (See Photos From The Wedding)
The general manager of an Edleen Dairy shop died in hospital on Friday morning, March 31, after being shot during an armed robbery in Midland, Geuteng, South Africa on Thursday night, March 30.
Dyke Motsepa tied the knots with his wife Kido Nyareli on March 11th.
He succumbed to his injuries, a bullet wound to the stomach, while being treated at Tembisa Hospital.
According to Norkem Park South Africa Police Service, Motsepa was wounded during an armed robbery at Pizzarology, a wholesale dairy distributor on Modderhill Road next to CR Swart Drive, during which two armed men ambushed two general managers and a security guard.
According to a co-worker, Emmanuel, he and Motsepa had just finished locking up the shop at about 6.30pm when the incident occurred.
“I was waiting in the car for Dyke as he was setting up the security alarm. That was when one of the security guards at the complex said he noticed a white Golf parked inside the complex.
''He went to the car and told the person inside they were not permitted to park there. But the person ignored him,"When he was done, Motsepa got into the passenger side of Emmanuel’s car.
"A few moments later, I heard an extremely loud bang on my side of the car [driver’s side]. It was a man carrying a big gun telling us, ‘Phumani! Phumani emotweni!’ (get out of the car), which we did."As Emmanuel and Motsepa got out of the car, the armed man instructed them, along with a security guard, to get onto the floor. Moments later, a second man, armed with a small handgun, walked up to the group while talking on his cell phone.
"They started asking us where the manager was and we told him he was gone. They didn’t believe us and told us we were lying. The guy with the big gun saw someone looking down from the flats nearby and became nervous. He called someone and told them to bring the car around because someone was watching them," Emmanuel explained.A Golf pulled up and he went to the car. The second guy also started walking away and that’s when Emmanuel and Motsepa saw an opportunity to escape.
"As we got up, I heard a huge bang. When I looked, I saw the second guy with the small gun had shot Dyke in the stomach."
He then fled in a white Audi. Motsepa screamed in pain and walked towards a passageway at the shops, where he fell to the ground.
“He asked for us to call his mother."
By this time tenants from other shops had come outside after hearing the commotion and called an ambulance and the police.
Emmanuel had known Motsepa for years after Motsepa had started working at the shop about seven or eight years ago.
"He had become like a brother to me because he knew my family and I knew his."
Motsepa, who lived in Ivory Park with his family only returned to work about three days before the incident after being on leave for his wedding.
"Just yesterday he was showing us photographs from his wedding day."
A woman who worked with Motsepa and Emmanuel described the deceased as a “fantastic person who was very loving and kind"

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Fashola Receives Minister Of The Year Award
I've been in Abuja for like a month now, and where I'm staying in the city there is light for at least 22 hours almost on a daily basis. Hopefully with time this would spread across Nigeria.
The Minister of Power, Works and Housing has won the Minister of the Year Award organised by City People Magazine. The award ceremony was held at Lagos Airport Hotel, Ikeja on Sunday.
Below is Fashola’s remarks at the ceremony:
PROTOCOLS
It is always very easy for members of the public to pick and choose from a Team, who they like more within a Team.
So in a football club, we tend to pick the best striker or midfielder or defender.
But in doing so, we sometimes forget that what is most important is the team and the work they do together; the Team work, that allows any striker, midfielder or defender to thrive.
There will be no good striker, midfielder and defender in a team that does not do well.
Therefore collective success must be, and is indeed, more important than individual recognition.
A Government is no different from a football club, to the extent that they comprise individuals of different talents, passions and experiences who must work together to deliver service to the public.
A successful team is led by a Great and resourceful manager, who often has a dependable assistant.
In our Government team, President Muhammadu Buhari has discharged that role effectively by picking a team of Ministers whose commitment to change is unquestionable and the Vice President has demonstrated his ability to complement this vision of change and his dedication to help midwife it.
On their behalf I accept this Award.
Every Goal scored by a striker is the result of co-ordinated team play, and interchange of passes.
In our team, every Minister has supported the other, and the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing has benefitted from a well planned Budget, well timed cash backing, very massive support and contributions to our Council Memoranda and therefore on behalf of the Federal Executive Council members, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Cabinet Office and the Office of the Chief of Staff, I accept this award.
Of course, a good football team thrives on financing and shareholders support.
We have received a lot of cooperation from those who exercise the power of appropriation in the National Assembly; the Senators, House of Representatives members and all their Committee Chairmen, members and staff are the real owners of this Award.
I accept it on their behalf.
Some of our work will not have progressed without prompt and efficient determination of some court cases. Our progress would have been hindered. This Award also belongs to the Judiciary as members of the team of change. I accept it on their behalf.
No team is complete without the army of backroom staff who we never get to see, but who help the players enormously.
The Ministry of Power, Works and Housing is blessed with an army of hardworking civil servants, led by 2 (Two) Permanent Secretaries, Directors, the Heads of our parastatals, Deputy Directors, Controllers and other staff who have signed up for change and are daily working towards it. I accept this Award on their behalf.
As I said earlier, no individual recognition is worthy of note if the team is not delivering results.
My Brother, the Hon. Minister of State in the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shehuri and I accept this Award on behalf of Government as proof that our team is gaining momentum, and the results of Government policies, programmes and action are beginning to manifest.
Our party, the All Progressive Congress, the architects of Change, know that the work is not done; on the contrary, it is just beginning.
We the team members also know this. We know that it can be a lot better, we commit to do more and to make your lives better.

A big dog died saving dozens of people at a wedding party in Maiduguri after it attacked a suicide bomber, an official said.
The dog stopped the teenage suicide bomber from detonating her explosives in the crowd.
The dog, according to the police, belonged to a resident of the neighbourhood where the wedding took place.
The suicide bomber was about making her way into the gathering at the wedding ceremony before the dog pounced on her.
The girl, whose original mission appeared to have been thwarted, detonated her explosive while battling to wriggle herself from the canine grip of the dog.
The gallant dog paid the supreme sacrifice as it died alongside the suicide bomber.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force in Borno State, Victor Isuku, said the incident happened at about 7.30 a.m. in Belbelo community of Jere Local Government Area in Borno State.
“Information just received indicate that today at about 0733hours (7.33am), a female suicide bomber with IED strapped to her body, attempted to infiltrate a wedding ceremony gathering in Belbelo community of Jere LGA”, he said.
“She was however prevented by a watch dog, so she had to detonate the IED to kill herself and the dog.
“The dog was owned by resident in the locality”, said Mr. Isuku, a deputy superintendent of police.
Mr. Isuku said normalcy has since been restored in the area and “no further casualty was recorded apart from the dog.”
