Operatives of The Agency Arrested Notorious Fake Army Officer Terrorizing Lagos (See Photos)

A fake Army officer who obstructed the enforcement unit of Lagos Task Force from performing their legitimate duties around Lekki area has been arrested by operatives of the agency.

Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, Olayinka Egbeyemi, disclosed that the fake army officer was nabbed by the enforcement team of the agency during the demolition of shanties occupied by miscreants and hoodlums around White Sand School, Lekki, Lagos.

Egbeyemi disclosed further that the suspect obstructed the enforcement team and beat-up one para-military officer attached to the agency.

He said the suspect who claimed to be a Staff Sergeant in the Nigeria Army wore an Army cap on a mufti dress, saying that after diligent investigations, it was discovered he was a fake Nigerian Army officer who had been terrorising innocent members of the public around the area.

He enjoined members of the public to stop impersonating security personnel as everyone had equal right before the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Egbeyemi, however, confirmed that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni had directed that the suspect be immediately charge to court.

The suspect, Usman Yaya, 27, from Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State confessed that he stole the Nigeria Army cap from his brother in Abuja.

Yaya confessed further that since he came to Lagos in February, 2017 and had nothing to do, he decided to put on the Army cap to extort money from people, particularly commercial buses plying Victoria Island and Lekki.

He claimed that it was his brother (a Staff Sergeant with the Nigeria Army) whom he lived with at Abacha Barracks in Abuja, who owned the cap.

Yaya pleaded with the government to temper justice with mercy as he was ready to stop the illegal dealings and return the Army cap to his brother in Abuja.

Lady Advises Yahoo Boys and The Girls Who Follows Them Because of Money

No matter what you say, folks who are desperate because their parents are waiting for them to 'take care of them' even without a job will not listen. Money is the only talk they understand.

This young lady, Loty Keri, took to her profile to advise guys living large by defrauding people and as such treating ladies any how. Read what she shared:

“Dear yahoo boys, I’m not telling you not to do your kind of business but this internet business has made most of you not to have integrity in the real world. Hey you oh yes you, just because you cut corners to make money and tell lies for a living does not mean you should apply the same in your daily life.
You guys are so blinded by money and lies that you don’t even know how to earn the love of a good woman by simply just saying the truth. It’s funny how you guys think that every girl is the same as those white women you sweet talk to believing you and sending you money, too bad!
Kindly get a life please and if that is too much to ask, stay away from good women and find your match. I’m sure there are some girls like you who wont mind the way you lie and the character you display once they are seeing the money.
Women please be wise. It’s good to have a home than a house. God bless you all.”
Good to know we still have good ladies. Interesting words.

Federal Government Commenced on Online Registration Of Unemployed Nigerians

The Federal Government will commence the online registration of unemployed persons in the country on Wednesday.

The Deputy Director, Information & Public Relations, National Directorate of Employment (NDE), Edmund Onwuliri, said the development is a part of the government quest to keep a robust data base for unemployed persons and provide jobs.

The registration, according to him, is in compliance with the third mandate of the NDE which requires it “to obtain and maintain a data bank on employment and vacancies in the country with a view to acting as a clearing house to link job seekers with vacancies in collaboration with other government agencies.”

Onwuliri said the framework for the online registration, being handled by the Directorate has been completed and ready for lunch; adding that the NDE has also completed the framework for the electronic registration of unemployed persons in Nigeria.

He said: “The online portal which goes live on Wednesday April 5, 2017, is designed to capture the relevant details of any unemployed person. It will equally serve as a job exchange portal that will link job seekers and employers.

“There will be a practical demonstration of the workings of the portal at the NDE stand at the on-going 28th edition of the Enugu International Trade on Thursday April 6, 2017. However, the portal can be accessed by logging on to www.jobsforall.ng. The Directorate sees this initiative as a bold step towards deepening the effectiveness of its employment creation strategies and a critical input into the process of designing, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programmes and schemes.”

The portal will serve as a meeting point for job seekers and employers to reduce the cumbersome process of recruitment among employers of skilled labour in the private and public sectors.

Sad: Two Pastors of Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) Dies In Fatal Accident (See Photos)

A tragic accident at the weekend claimed the lives of two ECWA church pastors and others.

The pastors of the First Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) met their untimely death at the weekend in a road accident. The shocking death has left doubt in the minds of the faithfuls who are asking why such fate befell their pastors.

Even when a minister mounted the rostrum with some soothing words of comfort, admonishing the congregation to bless God in all things, the Lord gives and he takes, faint hisses broke the serenity of the hitherto cold silence.

Their misery began on Friday, March 24, when their pastor, who prayed against accident in an early morning prayer before embarking on the journey to renovate his house in his village where his late mother would be buried, met his death along with his assistant

The journey ended for the duo as they lost their lives in an accident on their way to Mopa in Mopa Moro local council of Kogi State. Both pastors, described as inseparable in life, were inseparable even in death.

They had set out on the fateful day without any premonition of what was ahead. Sadly, it turned out to be their last journey on earth.

Revd. Elijah Jonigbosaye was until his death the head pastor of the First Evangelical Church of West Africa, Lokoja. He was assisted by Pastor Sunday Obadofin. Jonigbonsaye was preparing for the burial of his late mother scheduled for April 20. He was travelling home with two workers to renovate his house ahead of the burial.

According to the Church Secretary, Obadofin decided to seize the opportunity of the trip to check on his family at Mopa. About 20km from Lokoja, at Itakpe Irepeni, along Okene-Lokoja road, the car they were traveling in had a burst tire and their Mitsubishi Lancer rammed into a motorcyclist from where their car veered off to have a head-on collision with an oncoming Toyota Siena bus.

The 4 occupants of the Mitsubishi Lancer died on the spot as the car was damaged beyond repairs. The two workers traveling with the pastors were buried same day according to Islamic rite, while the 52-year-old Jonigbonsaye and 36-year-old Obadofin were laid to rest on Friday, March 31.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

3 Friends Found With Human Skull In Ekiti State Have Been Arrested By Police

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested three men for allegedly being found in possession of a human skull.

The suspects – Muhammed Isiaka, Ismaila Okoro and Abidemi Awolusi – were said to have been arrested with the skull and some weapons, including charms.

The state Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Chafe, said the suspects were arrested by men of the Operation Flush at Igirigiri, a farmstead in Ado Ekiti, describing them as kidnappers and armed robbers who had been terrorising Ekiti in recent times.

The suspects were among several others paraded by the police at the command headquarters.

Also paraded for armed robbery were;

Tope Falua, Olaoluwa Fagbamila, Gbenga Faleye and Kehinde Adejuwon.

“We recovered charms and Indian hemp from Adejuwon’s premises while conducting a search on the premises,” Chafe said.

He said his men also arrested one Oyewumi Tope and Olayiwola Faluru, while allegedly siphoning diesel on the premises of the Ekiti State Water Corporation.

The police also paraded one Olusoji Damilola, who was allegedly caught at the scene of a robbery, where a petrol station’s attendant, Oluwadare Adebayo, was robbed of N1.2m.

“We will not rest until we ensure that our people can sleep with their two eyes closed. And these people will be charged to court soon,” the CP said.

Woman Cries Out For Justive Due To Her Husband's Long Detention

A housewife, Saratu AlHassan has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Ibrahim Idris, to prevail on policemen at Area 10, Garki, Abuja, to release her husband who has remained in police detention since last Tuesday.

She said his continuous incarceration has brought untold hardship to their family, adding that his 70-year-old mother, who is unaware of the situation, is worried because she has neither spoken to nor seen him since.

Mr. Yusuf AlHassan, a Lagos-based businessman and stockbroker, was arrested at the behest of a former Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), following an alleged business transaction that turned awry.

According to Saratu, the man, who was a friend to her husband before he became SEC’s DG, invested some money in AlHassan’s company and usually calls her husband to send money to different individuals, all of which were documented.

“But because he went broke, the former DG woke up and claimed that my husband stole his money, that the money he invested didn’t yield profit.

“My husband was first arrested in December and flown to Abuja, where they kept him for some days before he was granted bail.

“He showed the policemen the documents of transactions and the errands he was running for the man but they didn’t listen because a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) was backing him. Because of the man, my husband’s importation company became bankrupt.

“Besides, he would also demand that money be sent to certain people; he virtually turned my husband to his errand boy. My husband barely had time for the business because he was helping his friend to succeed. See the way the man now wants to repay him.

“After he was released in December, the man claimed that the money he invested then and the accrued interest had amounted to about N75m, and my husband must pay. My husband denied owing him but the [police is still detaining him].

"I am Not Not Detained, I Reports At DSS Office Daily" – Ifeanyi Ubah Says

Owner of Capital Oil and Gas Limited, Ifeanyi Ubah, has said that he reports at the headquarters of the Department of State Services in Abuja daily and that he is not being detained.

Ubah, who spoke in a telephone interview with Punch in Abuja on Sunday, confirmed that the DSS was mediating in a financial dispute he had with the NNPC.

During the phone call, he said he was on his way to the DSS office, where he said there would be a reconciliation meeting between him and the officials of the NNPC.

He said he's grateful to the DSS for intervening in the matter, adding that he would make a public statement to thank the security outfit on Monday.

“I go there every day. I’m on my way there now. We have a reconciliation meeting with them today. I will make a statement tomorrow (today) to thank DSS for being able to resolve the issue,” he said.

Ubah is being interrogated over the claim by the NNPC that it had N11bn worth of Premium Motor Spirit stored in facilities of his company.

The NNPC had written both the DSS and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, asking them to help it to recover the said amount.

The NNPC said it stored the PMS with the amount in the facilities of Capital Oil and Gas Limited.

It alleged that the product was stored in the facility under a special arrangement, which it claimed was breached by Ifeanyi Ubah.

NNPC claimed that Ubah sold the product without its permission and refused to remit the money.
