Nollywood Actress, Adunni Ade and her Cute Coys Are The Cover Stars For The Latest Issue of Motherhood In-Style Magazine (See Photos)

Actress Adunni Ade and her cute boys - 9-year-old D’Marion and 5-year-old Ayden, are the cover stars for the latest issue of Motherhood In-Style Magazine.

In this exclusive interview with the mag, she opens up on life as a single mum, how she disciplines, why she quit America’s Next Top Model and details of her personal challenges...

Would you like to share why you are not with the father of your children?

Well, I just had to make that decision though it took me a long time to realise or stop lying to myself that it was never going to work out even though I tried as much as I could. I just decided that what’s best for me is to walk away and still be here and be with my kids and still have the opportunity of being the best mother possible, so yeah, I had to make that decision. It was really tough, it was really painful; I think that hurt me the most out of anything that I have ever been through in my life, walking away was the hardest thing to do.

Were you married and how long were you together?

Well, we were never married. We were together for 8 years but in the state of Kentucky, it’s a common wealth state and common wealth state is if you live together for a long period of time you might as well be considered married but on paper, no, never been married before.

Suffering from depression as a result of her troubled relationship, an emotional Adunni talked about fear of losing her life, leaving her kids and professional intervention helped to get her through.

She says, “I think the major thing that got me through was the fear that somebody else would raise my children if I sat in that relationship, that was the scariest thing for me, that my kids would see somebody else as their mother. Depression is no joke. A lot of people in this country, Nigeria, don’t want to admit that depression is an illness. People don’t know the extent to which it affects the mind.

“Not a lot of people know this; in the past I have tried to commit suicide because it was just too much, just too much for me but I guess God loves me enough to still keep me here."

Nigeria is idealistic in terms of marriage and how things should be, how have you coped, moving back to Nigeria to live in this society as a single mum?

Well, even before I moved back I definitely didn’t like placing myself in that ‘single mother’ status. I’m a parent. Yes, it takes two to become a parent but hey, when it’s one, let that one do the best they can. Now, how I have been able to cope in Nigeria? The same way I was able to cope in the States, doing it all by myself. I am truly happy that I experienced certain things over there in the States.

If I had experienced those things here in Nigeria, I probably would have just killed myself long time ago because this country is tough. But as tough as this country and its people are, I’m also a tough cookie and I never give up. If I set my mind to do something, regardless of what it is, I will get it done. The time for myself is gone, when you have kids it’s not about you anymore, it becomes about the other lives that you have brought into this world so my main focus, my main goal is about my children and they have been my drive and my motivation from day one.

Sad: One Teacher Died and Many Students Injured In a School Bus Accident In Enugu (See Photos)

An accident along the Enugu-Onitsha expressway led to the death of a teacher while several students were injured and are in critical condition in the hospital. The occupants of the ill-fated bus were teachers and pupils from Bayelsa who were on an excursion to the Ngwo Forestry in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The Enugu State Commissioner for Health, Dr Sam Ngwu, confirmed the accident and said it occurred at Ugwu Onyeama, near Enugu at about 8.45 p.m. on Wednesday. NAN reports 40 people were involved in the accident, most of whom were between ages 7 to 15 years.

Ngwu revealed that the Bayelsa commissioner for health had been notified of the incident and was on his way to see the victims in Enugu.

“The victims were on an excursion to Enugu State. Their bus fell into a gully and many of them sustained multiple fractures, lacerations, cuts and swellings on their faces. Some of the victims were immediately taken to nearby hospitals in Ngwo, following the intervention of the State Government. One of the teachers died in the process, which is a miracle, considering the severity of the accident,” Dr Ngwu said.
He added:

"Eleven persons were severely injured. Ten of them were later transferred to the National Orthopedic Hospital, while others were moved to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital."
The Enugu State Commissioner for Information, Dr Godwin Udeuhele, lamented the poor state of the Enugu-Onitsha expressway and the number of lives it has cost.

"We urge the Federal Government to expedite its intervention on that road to minimise loss of lives and property," Udeuhele said.

See Photos of Kendall Jenner Hiding Her Face as She Was Pictured For The First Time Since The Pepsi Advert She Featured In Was Pulled

Kendall Jenner was spotted on Wednesday arriving at Charles de Gaulle airport in France and she made sure to keep her face hidden from cameras. This will be the first time the 21-year-old reality star is seen in public since the Pepsi ad she featured in received serious backlash and had to be pulled by the soft drinks company.

There are reports that Kendall is embarrassed by the controversy and Pepsi has apologised to her for putting her in such a position. A source spoke to People magazine about the controversy and said Kendall never had the intention to offend.

"Kendall would have been absolutely mortified. Anything offensive is just not her. She means well, always. She would have called Kris so upset and freaking out. And then Kris would go into mum mode and approach it like, ‘Let’s do something about this, now,’” the source said.
As she made her way through arrivals, the model did not seem to be in the mood for photos and she hid most of her face with her arm. She was dressed in leather trousers, a grey sweater and trainers.

See Photos and Life Story of Nigeria's First Female Major General, Aderonke Kale

There are women in all the arms of the gallant Nigerian Armed Forces and today, we are taking a look at the first Nigerian woman to ever become a Major-General (two-star general) in the Army and in any of the three wings of the Nigerian Armed Forces (including the Navy and Air Force).

Her record remains unbroken till date in the Nigerian Army but has been equalled by Rear Admiral Itunu Hotonu of the Nigerian Navy.

MAJOR-GENERAL (Dr.) Mrs. ADERONKE KALE.
EDUCATION & MEDICAL CAREER

Major-General Ronke Kale (rtd) trained as medical practitioner before she decided to enlist in the Nigerian Army as an officer. It is quite interesting to know that she did so when even fewer women were donning the uniform of the military (it was not even until November 2011 that the first female hostel in the Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, Kaduna was commissioned, for how many female students? 20). And as for the curious medical professionals, Major-General Kale’s area of specialty is psychiatry. She was inspired to join psychiatry by the late medical giant, Professor Thomas Adeoye Lambo. Africa’s first professor of psychiatry.

JOINING THE ARMY & AS A MAJOR-GENERAL
As a colonel and medical commandant (Commanding Officer) in the Nigerian Army, she attended the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, (NIPSS SEC12), Kuru, Plateau State in the year 1990 (she was of the same set with retired Lt. Gen. Victor Samuel Leonard Malu who was to later become the Chief of Army Staff). Upon graduation from Kuru (she received her graduation certificate in 1990 as a colonel from General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who was the military president), she returned to the Military Hospital, Benin, Edo State and resumed duties as the Commanding Officer. While in the army, she was a close associate of IBB’s chief of intelligence, Colonel Halilu Akilu.

From there, she was later moved to Lagos State where she served as the Deputy Commandant of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps , Ojo where she was later promoted to the rank of a Brigadier General, thus becoming the first woman in Nigeria to become a one-star general (but please note that the first woman to be commissioned an officer in the Nigerian Army is Risquat Finni, who later retired as a Lieutenant Colonel).

"I didn't Eat For 2 Days Because I Have No Money" - Lady Who Collapsed In Ibadan Says

If you have, appreciate God and thank those reaching out to you. People are going though a lot.

36yrs old single mother of 3, Tawakalitu Adeyeye collapsed and became unconscious at Ikolaba area of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

When passersby failed to resuscitate the woman with cold water, an eyewitness called the Police PRO, Mr Adekunle Ajisebutu, who immediately went to the scene and also alerted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ikolaba Division.

She was rushed to the hospital. Upon regaining consciousness, she said there's nothing wrong with her medically, she collapsed because she was hungry and had not taken any food in two days.

"I am a labourer, and I had gone to the Wema area, in Iwo Road, where labourers normally converge daily for menial work, but for the past one month, I have not done any work.

"On the day I collapsed, I was returning home to Ijokodo, Sango area, and was trekking back like I did in the morning when I went in search of a job. I didn’t eat the previous day because I had nothing, and I prayed I would get a job that day, but it wasn’t to be, so as I was trekking back home, I became weak around Ikolaba area, and fell to the ground," said Tawakalitu, whose cab driver husband abandoned her and their three children.

Tawakalitu is, however, grateful to the PPRO and the policemen who rescued her, saying she could have died if not for their timely response to the calls made to them by good Samaritans.

During his visit to the woman at the hospital on Saturday, the PPRO commended members of the public who called to draw the attention of the police to her plight.

Also moved by the story of the woman, the PPRO donated food items and an undisclosed amount of cash to her, while praying to God to help her get a more decent and rewarding job.

Director of Salaudeen Hospital, Ikolaba, where she was rushed to, Dr Rashidi Salaudeen, said she could have died if she hadn't been brought in immediately.

"From the day I was elected, I saw it coming and I knew that I would be haunted anytime any moment. After all, when I entered the House of Assembly, I didn't envisage that I was going to be the deputy speaker. In that circumstance, I have it at the back of my mind that I can be removed any time"
