Actress Yvonne Jegede Says Her Big Boobs Is Not Her Selling Point But Brain (See Photos)

I was born in Agenebode, Edo State, in 1983. I had a very wonderful childhood because I come from a loving family and it was fun for me all the way. I always got whatever I wanted and I loved being the centre of attention.

EducationI studied International Relations at a university in Cyprus.

Modelling
As a child, I wanted to become a beauty queen and win the Miss Nigeria beauty pageant. That was all I looked forward to becoming. However, I never got to participate in any pageant because I wasn’t tall enough.

ActingI never knew that I would become an actress someday. I’m not one of those people that would say that they discovered their talent while in the womb. It wasn’t something that I planned for but along the line, I realise that I was very passionate about it and I decided to take it serious. I got into the industry through Charles Novia, and he was the one that invited me for my first movie role. It was on that set that I met Uzodinma Okpechi, who invited me for the video of 2face’s African Queen.

Challenges
I don’t remember having any challenges apart from going for auditions. I was young at the time; I wasn’t 20 yet when I joined Nollywood.

Role modelsIn Hollywood, I love Meryl Streep. Everybody knows I’m crazy about her and she is my idol. In Nigeria, I love Bimbo Akintola.

Memorable rolesI have not been challenged enough yet. I have played almost every character, so there’s really nothing left to do. If you look at it critically, almost every story these days is a version of something that had been written earlier by another person. And this also applies to Hollywood with movies like Batman, Superman and others. However, I once acted as a widow who had to mourn her late husband for a very long period. That script really touched me and I actually cried on set. I can be very daring on set and go to any length to interpret my character but I can never act n*de.

Body shape
I thank God that I have a good figure and I have no regrets. However, I like my eyes so much and you can say that they’re my best features. Even though many people feel my big boobs are my selling point, but it is my brain. As for the people insinuating that I did surgery to enlarge my boobs, I have always been this way. People who know me from way back will confirm.

MarriageI feel very happy and blessed in my marriage. I think I married at the perfect time even though I’m in my early 30s. My husband is a very special person and I always say that men like him are very rare. Being married will not affect my career. Meanwhile, my husband is also an actor so he knows the terrain.

Fashion
I love simplicity and I believe that fashion is a thing of the mind. It’s all about how you carry yourself. Some people might wear designer clothes and still not command attention while others might wear things that are not that expensive and be the cynosure of all eyes.

Photos: Governor Udom Emmanuel Gives Priority Attention To Industrialization of Akwa Ibom State

Revamped Peacock Paint Industry. Fully functional Akwa Prime Poultry and Hatchery. Completed Akees Toothpick and Pencil Factory.

Before now Akwa Ibom proudly owned Peacock Paints, Sunshine Batteries, Quality Ceramics, Qua Steel, ALSCON and the likes, which made the state an industrial leader and offered jobs and business opportunities to the citizens. Unfortunately, these companies all faded away decades ago.

The administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel is one that has effortlessly gained the support of the masses not through the usual channels of propaganda or rice distribution, but by delivering its promises to the people, especially that of industrializing the state. Since assuming office, the governor has been working and breathing industrialization. The seriousness with which the governor has taken the industrialization drive is yielding tremendous results already.

It has resulted in the AKEES Pencil and Toothpick factory with production capacity of 5000 pencils per day and 20,000 tons of toothpicks per hour, creating employment for over two hundred Akwa Ibom youths currently working at the factory.

Peacock Paint Limited, a company that was moribund and overgrown with weeds for decades, has been revamped. The completion of Akwa Prime hatchery is another bold step taken by this government in its bid to ensure that day-old-chicks are produced in sufficient quantity to meet the demand from within the state and ultimately from the entire South South and South East markets.

The governor’s vision of industrialization has seen him make efforts to create an enabling environment through improved power supply. The state has, in recent times become the destination of choice in Nigeria for investors. To this end, many National and International conglomerates have indicated interest in siting either their manufacturing facilities in the state. The metering solutions company which will make Akwa Ibom state a manufacturer of electric metering machines, is one.

The governor, nicknamed Mr. Industrialization by the people, is also embarking on a construction of coconut processing and refining plant which has already begun with the planting of 2 million coconut seedlings. The same goes for the rice mill where improved rice seedlings have already been planted and the processing mill is under construction. On completion these projects will employ over 5000 skilled and unskilled workers as well as reduce the cost of the commodity in the state.

The recent expression of interest by the Federal Government to partner with the state on the Ibom Deep Sea port to the tune of a billion naira is another sign that the people’s Governor is setting the pace for an industrial revolution and the federal government does not want to be left out in the glory. These initiatives show that as a good leader, the governor is creating opportunities for the people. Akwa Ibom is becoming an industrial hub and the citizens are already feeling the impact. #Govudomspriority #Industrialization

Reports That The Epidemic Meningitis Disease Had Killed Two Residents Have Been Denied By Lagos State Government

The Lagos state government has denied reports that two persons were recently killed by the epidemic Cerebro Spinal Meningitis disease that has claimed over 400 lives. The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control (NCDC) on Friday released a statement claiming that three residents of the state had contacted the disease and that two of such persons have died from complications from the disease.

The Lagos state Ministry of Health has however refuted this claim, stating that there is no truth to it. In a statement released by the Ministry's director, public affairs, Adeola Salako, the state Commissioner of Health, Jide Idris says the report was false and capable of causing undue panic. According to Idris, the cases of Meningitis recorded in the state are the non-epidemic ones which is different from the strain of the disease that has killed over 400 persons in some states.

“The report is untrue and does not represent the reality of the situation in Lagos state as at today. For the avoidance of doubt, there are two main types of meningitis. The epidemic prone meningitis, which is referred to as cerebrospinal meningitis (CSM), is caused by a bacteria called neisseria meningitides. Its occurrence is seasonal or cyclical, depending on the level of herd immunity and climatic conditions. The second type of meningitis is non-epidemic meningitis, which is usually caused by a virus or other bacteria, but not by neisseria meningitides. The non-epidemic meningitis occurs without any seasonal pattern or periodicity.”

According to Idris, a disease surveillance notification officer in the Lagos Island local government, reported nine suspected cases of meningitis from Massey Street Children Hospital with two deaths in March this year. He said, however, that none of these was confirmed as due to CSM.

“Although, all the nine cases presented with clinical features of meningitis at that hospital, laboratory tests proved that they were either due to Haemophilus influenza or Streptococcus pneumoniae and not Neisseria meningitides. The ministry was also notified last week of a three-year-old boy, presenting clinically as meningitis at a registered private facility in Lagos, but the laboratory investigations did not confirm CSM. The blood culture yielded no growth but the urine culture yielded Klebsiella and not meningococcus; the patient is already responding to treatment.

None of these cases, presented with a history of recent travel to any area with an outbreak of meningitis and neither were visits from such areas recorded with the aforementioned cases.’’

The commissioner urged all residents of the state to maintain a high level of hygiene during this period of the outbreak.

According to him, such hygiene measures should include washing of hands with soap and water frequently and thoroughly.

“Also, avoid direct contact with the discharges from an infected person and covering of mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing. It is strongly advised that people should avoid overcrowding in living quarters, provide cross ventilation in sleeping and work-rooms and other places where many people come together. People should get vaccinated with CSM vaccine when they travel to areas where meningitis outbreaks have been reported’’ he said

An eye witness, James Ibri, told NAN that the five gunmen came in a blue Audi car and picked Odu-Orji away as he stepped down to eat in a restaurant.

Mr. Ibri said that the gunmen dropped their car and ordered the Commissioner into his Prado Jeep and drove away with him.

“At around 12 pm today, I was in front of one restaurant waiting for a friend when the Commissioner for Water Resources stepped down and was approaching the restaurant.

“Before he could get into the restaurant, some well-armed men numbering about five came in a blue Audi, parked their car by the road side and ordered the Commissioner into his car and drove away.

“Those guys were kidnappers because they wore mask to hide their faces,’’ he said.
