Man Brutally Beaten For Stealing $2,600 From Employees, Confessed That He Gave ₦35,000 To His Wife and $1,000 To His Girlfriend

According to a twitter user, @Afolashade_, here's what happened. The brutalized man sitting, simply identified as James, is a house cleaner who stole $2,600 from his employers. Luckily, they were able to recover $1,300 from him. The balance was however already spent with his girlfriend receiving more than his family. James sent ₦5000 home to his mother in Aba, His brother, ₦7000, His wife and two kids, ₦35000, a friend $600 and his girlfriend, $1000.

Apparently he searched the bookshelves in the house while cleaning and took all the foreign currency he came across. He picked it all at once and forgot to arrange the books properly, coming back to the same house later on with courage. During the interrogation, he refused to give up the identity of his girlfriend and was badly beaten. The calculations don't add up though. Read what she wrote below:

Two Friends Who Reportedly Robbed Women Who Live Alone Have Been Arrested By Abia State Police

Operatives of the Abia State Police Command have arrested two young robbers, Obinna Anyanwu and Chinedu Awa [ndi ori], who engaged in robbing women that live alone at the Federal Low Cost Housing Estate, Umuahia.

one of their victims was Mrs Beatrice Okpi.

They were said to have burgled the homes of these women and carted away their clothings, kitchen utensils and other valuables.

The day for the owner eventually came as they raided the home of one Uche Jonathan, to steal two welding machines valued at N46,000.00.

While in the process of carrying the heavy machines, Uche alerted the residents who assisted to call the Police before the suspects were arrest.

Addressing newsmen in the Abia state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, said: “These same suspects ransacked the shop of Emeka Aharaumunna, at the estate and carted away six generators valued at N450,000.

"They also stormed the house of Pastor Gabriel Nwankwo and fired gunshots in an attempt to break into the victim’s house to rob.”

Obinna who confessed to the allegations claimed his friend, Flex, had initiated him into the crime. “I have been involved in robbery operations five times,” he said.

However, Chinedu Awa who hailed from Ndi Uduma Awoke, Ohafia Local Government Area of the state, denied partaking in the robbery. He said he only bought the stolen items, which he also, claimed, he didn't know were proceeds of the robbery.

He said: “I’m not part of the gang. I only bought some stolen items from them. I didn’t know the items were stolen ones.”

Nigeria Police Reportedly Arrested d Former PDP New Media Director, Deji Adeyanju Over Planned Protest Inn Abuja

Convener of Concerned Nigeria group, Deji Adeyanju, has been reportedly arrested by the Nigeria Police over a planned protest today in Abuja.

It was gathered that the ex-New Media Director to the Peoples Democratic Party, had on Thursday announced the group would organise a protest against the continued incarceration of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Adeyanju and another leader of the movement, Brian Jonah Dennis, were reportedly arrested on Friday at the Unity Fountain in Abuja.

Deji had in a series of tweets on Friday said:

“I am at the Unity Fountain and Officers of The Nigerian police are trying to stop me from entering the Unity Fountain park".

“Over 300 Police officers have manned the Unity Fountain to stop the #NoToSecretTrial procession for Nnamdi Kanu.”

“All entrances to the Unity Fountain have been barricaded by officers of the Nigerian Police.”

Then he finally tweeted, "Arrested", suggesting he had been arrested.

Recall that Prince Adeyanju had, yesterday, alleged that he received life threats from the security operatives comprising the Police, the army and the men of the Department of State Security Services, DSS after he was invited and persuaded to step-down the planned peaceful protest against the federal government’s insistence of a secret trial for the Biafran group leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

According to him, "Just got out of a 1-hour meeting with Commissioner of Police of FCT. In attendance was a Director of DSS and Brigade Commander of the Army.

“They said there’s security concerns over our rallies: #SayNoToSecretTrial of Nnamdi Kanu #FreeZakZakky

I asked what concern: No Answer.

“Then threats and more threats.

“I told them, rally will go on as planned tomorrow for #SayNoToSecretTrial and #FreeZakZakky on Wednesday
