3a) Land:
It refers to all natural resources which are free gifts of nature. Land, therefore, includes all gifts of nature available to mankind—both on the surface and under the surface

3b).
i ) Land is a Primary Factor of Production
ii) Land is a Passive Factor of Production
iii)Land has some Original Indestructible
Powers

3c)
-Fishery purposes: Land is used for fishery in rivers, seas and oceans. Fish ponds are also developed

- Wildlife purpose: Land is used for wildlife conservation, e.g game reserves and national parks.

-Livestock purpose: Land is also used for livestock production (I.e rearing of animals), e.g cattle, sheep, goat, poultry, e.t.c

-Farming purpose: Land is used for the cultivation of both food and cash crops, e.g maize, yam, cocoa, etc.

4a)  subsistence farming can be defined as the type of agriculture which  is concerned with the production if food for the farmer and family only

4b) crop farming can be defined  as an agriculture  which deal with crop cash production  e. G cocoa, cashew, cowoea.
WHILE livestock farming can be defined  as the rearing of domestic animals e. G pig, fish etc

4c
-Credit facilities
-Extension  of workers
-Construction  of good road
-provision  of social ameninites

6a)Inflation is the rate at which the general level of prices for goods and services is rising and, consequently, the purchasing power of currency is falling. Central banks attempt to limit inflation, and avoid deflation, in order to keep the economy running smoothly.

6bi)
-growing economy
-expectation of inflation
-discretionary fiscal

6bii)
-monopoly
-wage inflation
-exchange rates

7a) Economic development can be defined as efforts that seek to improve the economic well-being and quality of life for a community

7b) -dependency on agricultural sector
-illiteracy
-production for self-consumption

7c)
-Currency Strength
The value of the U.S. dollar compared to other foreign currencies such as the yuan, yen and the pound is important even for companies that do not import or export goods. Consumers have a choice to purchase goods or services originating in the United States or in other countries. If the U.S. dollar strengthens, companies in the industry that purchase inputs from other countries are able to be more competitive in pricing. In industries that are heavily reliant on foreign raw materials and processing, such as the clothing industry, the entire sector can be lifted or depressed with a strengthening or weakening of the dollar.

-Government Intervention
Many industries are regulated by the government in one form or another. Government agencies such as the --Environmental Protection Agency, the Food & Drug Administration or the U.S. Department of Agriculture maintain standards that all operators in an industry must follow for the safety of consumers, employees, or natural resources. Some industries are more heavily regulated than others and new laws and rules can shake up an entire industry and depress growth. For example, new child toy safety laws implemented under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act in 2009 threatened to wipe out many small toy producers as the requirements to test and certify the toys were cost-prohibitive to all but large toy manufacturers. Proposed changes to the Act may help alleviate the burden on small manufacturers and resellers.

-Environmental Impact
Economic growth in an industry can be impacted not only by the environmental effect the products or services have but also by consumers' perceptions of that impact. For example, the market for fur apparel declined drastically over the course of a few years in the 1990s when consumers perceived that raising and killing small animals for their fur was both inhumane and a poor use of land. Although the industry is once again picking up with international demand, the number of fur farmers in the country has substantially declined. If the public views an industry's products or services as being harmful or unsafe, most companies within the sector can experience a marked decline in sales quickly.

-Overall Economic Health
The economic state of the country
confidence can also spur growth and development or harm it. In recessionary times, consumers begin limiting their purchases to the essentials, foregoing luxury or big-ticket items. Companies also scale back production, hiring and the development of new products and services to ensure that their finances can weather the storm. In periods of overall economic growth, these companies once again expand.

8ai)- Increased exports.
-Make use of surplus raw materials.

8aii) -Restrictions on immigration
- cross-border investment are abolished.

8b) A common market, or single market, have advantages including consumers have more choice and lower prices.

Disadvantages of the common market include that monopolies may be formed.

Good People, Great Nation, Seriously Nigeria’s Got Brains

Success has different meanings and can be measured with different yardsticks. In the era of Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, success was measured by value and the impact made in people’s lives. Then, dignity was not measured based on university degrees, political position, or bank accounts balances but by impact!

For Nigeria, with a population of over 180 million citizens and blessed not only with minerals but human capital resources, success can either be subjective or objective.

The greatest success from Nigeria is not just with the mineral resources that have brought about foreign earnings which have bred corruption and widened the poverty gap, but exportation of brains (professionals) that are helping to develop other parts of the world.

Such brains that have come out of Nigeria are innumerable and could have been of use better than our abundant mineral resources. These brains are not the celebrities produced from Naija’s Got Talents but the intellectuals and innovators transforming the world while Nigeria languishes from a harsh environment that discourage such great brains.

Imagine what would have become of Nigeria if the likes of Saheed Adepoju (co-founder of Encipher Limited), Seyi Oyesola (co-invention of CompactOR), Jelani Aliyu (credited with designing General Motors’ leading auto brand, Chevrolet Volt), Ndubuisi Ekekwe (credited with developing microchips used in minimally invasive surgical robots), Col. Oviemo Ovadje (Rtd) (credited with the invention of the Emergency Auto Transfusion System (EAT-SET)), Cyprian Emeka Uzoh (who holds more than 126 United States issued patents and over 160 patents worldwide), Kunle Olukotun (who developed one of the first chip multiprocessors), Sebastine Chinonye Omeh (known for using wind-propelled turbines to generate electricity), Shehu Saleh Balami (credited with designing a solid-fuel rocket), Yemi Adesokan (whose discovery work on drug-resistant infections is groundbreaking), Ume Ifeanyi Charles (credited with five inventions), Aloysius Anaebonam (who holds about 12 U.S. patents), Mohammed Bah Abbah (credited with a refrigerating device that does not use electricity), Olu Atanda (credited with the co-invention of a self-lubricating layer for a data-storage device and disk), Brino Gilbert (credited with the invention of the Counter Collision Gadget (CCG)), Emeka Nchekwube (credited with various co-inventions), among several others.

Just imagine they were in Nigeria and allowed to thrive... Just imagine...

With the expectation of a few Nigerians who choose to remain, endure the economic and political challenges, and confront the environmental demons to birth new ideas even when the survival of such ideas is dicey. Heroes are not just people who can succeed in a good environment but people we have stood the test of time to birth solutions and innovations that can help the nation to immensely advance.

Thinking of some names already? Well, anyone can be like Aliko Dangote, Mike Adenuga Jnr., Femi Otedola, Jim Ovia, Tony Elumelu, Fola Adeola, Atiku Abubakar, TY Danjuma and co. All you need apart from the business courage are political and financial connections, family inheritance, and belonging to certain caucus (such as Ikoyi Club, Yoruba Tennis Club & etc). Beyond all these people you term “successful”, the real guys are those who can still innovate without access to those factors and have been able to rebrand this nation.

Several of those guys with guts that have stood the test of time without “connections” and have helped to end national disgrace include the Late Mrs. Florence Seriki (founder of Omatek computer – the first factory to locally assemble computers), Sim Shagaya (founder and C.E.O of one of West Africa's largest electronic commerce website, Konga.com), Chude Jideonwo & Adebola Williams (co-founders of Red Media Africa), Late Dr. Yombo Awojobi (renowned leading rural surgeon) and lest I forget, John Obaro (a man that has helped to change the course of public sector finance in Nigeria).

Who is John Obaro? He is a man who took the bold steps 25 years ago when others were taking to their heels seeking greener pastures abroad. He refused to give up in the face of several challenges including those that caused other businesses to park up. He is the founder of SystemSpecs, owners of Remita, the electronic payment solution connected to multiple electronic payment channels (including Internet Banking, POS, Bank Branches, ATM Cards, Direct Debit/Standing Order, Mobile, etc.) and has transformed finance management in Nigeria.

Today, the use of Remita for the facilitation of Treasury Single Account (TSA) of the Federal Government of Nigeria has solved Nigeria’s prolonged cash management and revenue leakages challenges. Obaro’s company, SystemSpecs, an indigenous organisation with 100% Nigerian workforce has won several laurels, in and outside Nigeria, for its accomplishments.

Acccording to the Mr Ahmed Idris, Accountant General of the Federation (AGF): “If not because TSA is in place, now that recession is here, only God knows what would have happened. A monthly drain of over N4 billion and yet no revenue coming in and leakages [would have] continued.”

It is such men as John Tanimola Obaro who should be celebrated and encouraged to continue to promote the image of this nation for the world to know that indeed Nigeria has got brains, and that many good things can come out of Nigeria.

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose Says Muhammadu Buhari Now Operating as Ceremonial, Part-time President

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has said that Nigerians did not elect General Muhammadu Buhari to function as “Friday President”, adding that he (Buhari) was now acting more like ceremonial and part-time President. The governor, who said he was glad that his constructive criticism was getting to the President and his handlers, noted that it was not enough for the President of a country like Nigeria to be seen in public only while attending Friday Jumat service at the Presidential Villa, videos of his activities should be made public too.

Speaking on Sunday, through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said it was necessary for Nigerians to be properly informed about the well-being of their president.

He accused some close allies of the President of deliberately shielding him and preventing him from attending to his health so as to continue to run the government on the basis of “Mr President has directed” even when the President did not direct anything.

“That’s why Nigerians are told every day that the President said this and that with the President neither speaking directly nor attending any official function. This is not good for the image of a country like Nigeria that is struggling to get out of economic recession,” the governor said.
Governor Fayose, who said by virtue of the his old age, the President could be susceptible to illness, advised that “President Buhari should rather be allowed to take proper care of his health while the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo acts constitutionally as the president.

“However, it is doubtful if those cabals that are obviously running their own Presidency within President Buhari’s Presidency will allow him to take a long vacation, probably outside Nigeria to take care of himself.”
The governor insisted that Nigerians must hear the voice of their President and see him physically, not through surrogates or the cabal operating behind the scene.

“It is only when the President is seen and heard physically that Nigerians will believe that they are not being ruled by a part-time and ceremonial president, whose powers are being exercised on his behalf by some cabal,” he said.

Remarkable!, Lionel Messi Scores 500th Goal For Barcelona To Win El Clasico 2016/2017

The Argentine scored an injury-time winner as his brace at the Santiago Bernabeu earned his side a 3-2 success over Real Madrid

Lionel Messi scored his 500th goal for Barcelona in all competitions by netting a dramatic late winner in El Clasico.

The Argentina international had gone into Sunday’s clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on 498 goals, after his double in last weekend’s Liga win over Real Sociedad.

However, he reached another landmark figure in a career littered with records when he scored twice in Madrid to send Barcelona top of the table after a 3-2 victory.

Messi has spent his entire professional career at Barca, joining the Catalan club from Newell’s Old Boys in 2001 when he was still only 14.

The teenage prodigy broke into the senior squad just three years later, making his Liga debut in October 2004, against Espanyol. “It seemed as if he had been playing with us all his life,” enthused Barcelona’s then assistant coach Henk Ten Cate.

Messi netted the first of his 500 goals for the club the following May, against Albacete, and has since gone on to break record after record.

In 2012 alone, he made history by scoring more goals in all club competitions in a single season (73) and across a calendar year (79) on his way to becoming Barcelona’s all-time leading marksman in La Liga.

“I feel sorry for those who want to compete for Messi’s throne because it’s impossible, as this kid is unique,” Pep Guardiola said of a player who was still only 24 at the time.

In 2014, Messi hit a hat-trick against Sevilla to pass Telmo Zarra’s tally of 251 Liga goals.

With his brace against Madrid, he has now reached another milestone and, given he is still only 30, there could still be many more records to come.

Chelsea Midfielder, N’Golo Kante Has Been Crowned The PFA Players’ Player Of The Year (See Photos)

The midfielder was named ahead of his Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard, as well as Romelu Lukaku, Harry Kane, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Alexis Sanchez, at tonight’s awards ceremony in London. ‘It means the world to me,’ Kante said. ‘To be chosen as the Player of the Year is a great honour.

Earlier this week Kante, Hazard, David Luiz and Gary Cahill were named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year. It is the second straight season the Frenchman has made that selection and having been on the shortlist to win the main award last year, Kante has gone one better this time around after an incredible first season at Stamford Bridge.

He has started all but one league game for us since joining from Leicester in the summer, instantly becoming a crucial cog in the team that is currently four points clear at the top of the table. Kante’s amazing athleticism, timing and tenacity in the tackle, speed of thought and pace in possession make it easy to see why his fellow players have voted him the top-flight’s best.

The 26-year-old has also earned plenty of praise from his boss Antonio Conte, his Chelsea team-mates and pundits everywhere after an outstanding campaign that could, in the coming weeks, get even better. ‘It’s good to still be in two competitions,’ Kante added.

‘We are going to fight for both and give our best to win these two competitions.’ He follows into the history books previous Chelsea winners of the award John Terry (2004/05) and Hazard (2014/15). Congratulations N’Golo!

5 Annoying Things Everybody Using A Nigerian Bank Can Understand, Number 4 Is The Worst

Banking in Nigeria has greatly advanced. In the past, you will find long queues but today the opposite is the case. Many of them have embraced technology and have simplified the banking process.

Regardless, there are still some annoying things that these banks do that are very frustrating.

In line with this, Jumia Travel shares some of these things.

Asking you to bring utility bill to open an accountWhenever you visit a bank in Nigeria to open an account, you are asked to bring a utility bill to confirm your address. Sometimes you begin to wonder, what you really need a utility bill for when you have BVN. BVN has every information about an individual including the fingerprints. You cannot change your fingerprint but you can change your address.

They deduct your money due to unnecessary chargesYou know one of the annoying alerts you get every month are the charges from your bank. The way some banks remove your money will tempt you to go to the bank to withdraw all of it and transfer it to another one.

They cannot process your complaint because your names are different
If you use two names in one document and use three names in another document, some banks will never accept or process the document from you. They will tell you the process may get stuck because of the name difference.

You have to wait for days when ATM refuses to dispense money and you have been debited
A faithful morning, you use the ATM of another bank to withdraw but the ATM refuse to dispense and your account is debited. Just be prepared for a long battle with your bank because you will not get your money back in 24 hours. First, you have to complain to your bank for them to reverse and depending on the bank, it can take weeks or months. If you don’t have money, you are on your own for that day. The question is why can’t they reverse it immediately?

And you need money urgently and they tell you ‘no network’
You don’t have money and you have tried several ATMs and they are not dispensing cash. You have no choice than to withdraw money at your bank. You walk into your bank and they tell you that there is no network, you will just get frustrated. The annoying thing is that if there is no network at that branch, it will be same at other branches. And without the network, they cannot do anything! Just start praying that the network comes back!

Governor Yahaya Bello Reacts To Senator Dino Melaye's Allegation

Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, in a swift reaction to the allegation by Senator Dino Melaye that he was planning to assassinate him, said he did not believe that Dino would “make such a sweeping statement on security matters.”

The governor, speaking through his DG on Media and Publicity, Kingsley Fanwo, said he did not believe that was the position of Dino, adding that his supporters, who he described as “largely ignorant about security matters,” might be the ones behind the allegations.
