An Alleged babymama Says She Is Not Happy For Musician Davido

Davido welcomed his second daughter, Hailey, in the US with another babymama, Amanda few days back. While many are happy for him, there is a particular lady, Ayomide Labinjo, who could not care less about the new addition to his family.

The young lady had accused the singer of impregnating her about three years ago and abandoning his responsibility as a father. Even though Davido has publicly denied the child, Labinjo had since dared him to come out for another DNA test but the singer has refused.

In a chat with Saturday Beats, Ayomide said that she is not happy for the singer. She queried why he would take care of his other two children and be a doting father to them but refused to do the same to their alleged child, Mitchell, whom she claims to be his first child.

Our lawyer has sent a letter to Davido’s father since April 20, 2017, we have not got any response till now. I am not happy about this whole situation. Why would I be happy for Davido? He should be taking care of Mitchell the same way he is taking care of Imade and I know how he is going to take good care of this one. What is my own offence?” she queried.

When asked if she does not feel that the way he treats them could be a possible sign that the kid probably does not belong to the singer, she challenged him to have another DNA test.

“What do you mean please? Then why isn’t he coming out for the DNA since he is denying the little girl? Why has his father refused to get back to the lawyer? David is the father of my daughter, at least I was not r*ped. I know who impregnated me! Besides, if he doesn’t want to go for the DNA, he has siblings. Let them come out or probably go the traditional way to know if she is their daughter or not.

“I don’t know and I don’t care about any ‘Americana;’ all I want is for him to take care of Mitchell. She’s also his daughter and first child for that matter,” Ayomide said.

Covenant University Named Among World Top 10 Best Universities

An international provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, Elsevier, based in The Netherlands, has rated Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, among the world’s top 10 universities in research and development.

Elsevier developed SciVal, a solution that offers easy access to the research performance of 8,500 research institutions and 220 countries.

Speaking about the achievement in a statement, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aderemi Atayero, noted that through the financial support of the school’s Board of Regents, the university had signed up with Elsevier SciVal, an initiative that had given the university the opportunity to monitor its achievements in terms of research, publications and citations.

Atayero said the university was able to identify its areas of “Distinctive Competencies” and “Emerging Competencies” courtesy of the SciVal software.

The statement added, “Over 13 million publications for the period 2011-2015 were extracted from the Scopus database, to form 168,092 clusters. SciVal subsequently identified 53 publication clusters in which Covenant University has a significant presence. The 53 publication clusters were grouped into 16 Competencies for Covenant University.

“SciVal classified four of the 16 Competencies as Distinctive Competencies of Covenant University because they are significantly large fields, and the institution is leading these fields in terms of publications, highly cited publications, and/or innovation.

“Indeed, Covenant University, looking at the data from 2011 to 2015 as calculated by Elsevier, was rated first in research endeavours such as (wind power, wind and turbine) and (corrosion, corrosion inhibitors, carbon steel) and world number two in (trade, remittance, effect) and (housing; residential satisfaction, satisfaction).”

In his remarks, the Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Regents, Dr. David Oyedepo, said that the university had already started celebrating its Vision 10:2022, which seeks the institution to be among the world’s top 10 in 2022.

“We are closer than ever imagined to the vision,” Bishop Oyedepo added.

6 Farmers and Okada Rider Were Killed By Fulani Herdsmen In Delta State

Suspected arms-wielding Fulani herdsmen have beheaded a motorcycle rider, identified as Udoka Ossai, and six farmers, indigenes of Ossissa community in Ndokwa East area of Delta State.

Local community sources said the incident occurred at about 6.30pm on Thursday evening when the okada rider went to drop a passenger at Ossissa Junction along the Ughelli/Asaba Expressway, while the farmers were ambushed on their way home.

Ossai, said to be in his late 20s, was returning after dropping the passenger at the roadside when the herdsmen who had been having a running battle with local farmers in the community struck.

According to Punch, the herdsmen, after beheading the deceased, fled the area before community youths could hunt for them.

After the incident, some aggrieved community youths recovered Ossai’s body, then proceeded to the Ashaka Divisional Police Station to dump the corpse at about 8:15pm, while others went in search of the killers.

An eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, said, “Udoka Ossai and the six farmers were attacked near Ossissa Junction. Udoka was slaughtered on the throat. Before I could draw the attention of villagers to the scene, he was already dead.

“Our youths who mobilised to the bush in search of the killers could not see the herdsmen who had already fled the area. They could not go far for the search because it was already dark. They recovered the corpses and dumped them at the police station at Ashaka. Over 40 of our people have been killed since last year owing to herdsmen attacks.”

Court Sentenced Jakarta's Christian Governor to 2yrs In imprisonment For Blasphemy

Islamic hardliners outside the court cheered and shouted "God is greatest!" as Jakarta's outgoing governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama was jailed for two years today, after being found guilty of committing blasphemy, a surprisingly harsh punishment after prosecutors recommended only probation.

Purnama looked calm when the verdict was announced and said he would appeal, as some of his supporters in court burst into tears.

The governor was hauled into court last year to face trial on charges of insulting Islam while campaigning for re-election, in a case critics said was politically motivated.

The trial came after a series of major protests in the capital against the leader, known by his nickname Ahok, that drew hundreds of thousands onto the streets.

His once unassailable opinion poll lead shrank amid the controversy and he lost the race to lead Jakarta last month to a Muslim challenger.

The five-judge panel at the Jakarta court found Purnama guilty of blasphemy and jailed him for two years. Announcing the verdict, presiding judge Dwiarso Budi Santiarto said Purnama was "convincingly guilty of committing blasphemy and is sentenced to two years in prison" and ordered him to be detained.

Another judge, Abdul Rosyad, said reasons for the stiff sentence included that "the defendant didn't feel guilt, the defendant's act has caused anxiety and hurt Muslims".

Blasphemy carries a maximum jail term of five years in Indonesia but the verdict was a surprise as judges in Indonesia typically follow the recommendation of prosecutors in criminal cases.

Prosecutors last month urged judges to hand Purnama two years of probation, with a possible one-year jail term if he committed a crime during that period.
"I am disappointed and sad at the verdict," one of his supporters in court, Octa de Queljoe, told AFP. "It is very rare that a verdict is higher than what the prosecutors had asked for."

Outside the court, hundreds of Islamic radicals wearing white Muslim skullcaps celebrated as they heard about the jail sentence.
"Thank God, he should be jailed - this is right. He has insulted us," Bachtiar, 38, who like many Indonesians goes by one name, told AFP.
However some were unhappy Purnama did not receive the maximum sentence.
"We are upset - he should get more than that, he should get five years," said 46-year-old housewife Novareinita Zein.
