Tinubu Released $30,000 For Late Actress Moji Olaiya's Burial
An insider has revealed that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu released $30,000 (N11.4 million) towards the ferrying of the corpse of Moji Olaiya from Canada to Nigeria, and other expenses.
The APC national leader and pillar of democracy donated the sum on Monday, May 22, 2017, when he met with family members of the star actress, her daughter and burial committee members.
According to Encomium, one of them inadvertently mentioned the figure today.
He wrote: “I may be wrong, Asiwaju who promised the committee $40k on Saturday changed it to $30k by Monday. Perhaps he had been fed Gov Ayo Fayose had helped.
Meanwhile the committee had thought they will use the excess to pay Adun’s school fees and empower the grandmum who will take up the upkeep of the 2 months old the deceased left behind.”
Moji Olaiya, 42 and mother of two daughters, died in the morning of Thursday, May 18, in Canada of cardiac arrest following childbirth complications.

The father of the baby, Egbegbe is still in prison after he was arrested for allegedly attempting to dupe BDC operators to the tune of 10 million Naira.
He is still in prison due to his inability to meet his bail conditions. He was arrested at Gbagada in Lagos on the 24th of February, shortly after he was arrested and disgraced for allegedly trying to steal over 9 iPhones in Computer village, Ikeja, Lagos.
Mother and baby are said to be doing well.

500 Quran Reciters Gathers To Pray For Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari
The Zamfara Government said on Tuesday it had assembled 500 reciters of the Holy Qur’an to offer special prayers for the well-being of President Muhammadu Buhari and the country.
Lawal Liman, the state’s Commissioner for Rural and Community Development, told NAN in Gusau, the state capital, that the Islamic scholars were drawn from the 14 local government areas of the state.
According to Mr. Liman, the reciters were brought together as part of activities lined up for the 2017 Democracy Day celebration in the state.
The commissioner said “all hands must be joined in prayers for the betterment of our nation.
“If the President, as the leader of Nigeria, is not well, then it becomes the concern of all Nigerians to know that his recovery is highly important to us as a people and as a nation.
“We have organised different prayer sessions throughout the state and we believe as Hafeez (memorizers of the Holy Qur’an) their prayers will be of immense benefit for our state, its leaders and people and the nation, especially the President, who is now on medical treatment in London.’’
He said the 500 Qur’an reciters who were hosted at the Gusau Central Mosque, recited the Holy Qur’an 100 times from Sunday night to Monday morning.
“Special prayers were also offered for God to continue to give him the wisdom he needs to take this nation to greater heights,’’ he added.

Kunle Afolayan About To Drop a New Movie Titled “Roti”
Following the success of Omugwo, award winning producer and director, Kunle Afolayan’s new movie Roti is set to hit the cinemas.
‘Roti’ which is being distributed by Blue Pictures was screened to the public for the first time as part of the Lagos@50 celebrations. It was screened to the media on Friday, 19 th May and will eventually make its cinema debut on
June 30 .
“Roti” follows the story of a young couple years after they lose their son, Roti, to a brief illness. The psychological limits and endurance of a couple are stretched after the wife, Diane, suddenly sees an exact replica of her dead son (five years after his death), walking leisurely home from a different school and living an entirely different life. The emotional ramifications of this experience becomes near damning. She initially receives the experience in wonder and hope of a reunited future with her dead son, but, after she discovers that the little boy Juwon is not a reincarnation of Roti, she is washed anew by grief and soon descends into depression and consequent hysteria. Her desperation spirals for the worst as the decision-making on her future with Juwon becomes rather irrational and reckless.
The movie stars Kunle Afolayan himself and Kate Henshaw as the grieving couple, Toyin Oshinaike, Fathia Balogun and Dari Afolayan.

A Kenyan Lawyer met with the shock of his life after he discovered a used condom inside a beer he was about to Drink.
For this, He is suing the East African Breweries, makers of Tusker beer to court recently over what he found in the bottle.
He accused the company of negligence and recklessness and then claimed that he was subject to an
“everlasting shock” as a result of the disturbing experience he had encountered.
He said:
"There was a party and I had bought five crates of the same brand of beer, several people in attendance were consuming their drinks. After serving them, I picked a bottle, opened it and began drinking. After the first sip, I realised the taste was extremely strange and the following encounter was nauseating because the bottle contained an unwrapped condom.”
“I suffered psychological torture, trauma, mental anguish, excessive sweating, severe headache, abdominal pains, abdominal rumbling and vomiting due to shock and anxiety after taking the beverage containing condom.”
I now claim damages and special damages for the injury, despite the demand and notice of intention to sue having been given, EABL ignored.”
