Tech: Indiana's Demand For Electronic Products To Rise To $400 Billion By Year 2020

The demand for electronic products in India is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 41 percent during 2017-20 to reach $400 billion by 2020, a study said yesterday (Monday).

According to a joint study by industry lobby Assocham and IT company NEC Technologies, the domestic production of electronic products which is currently growing at a CAGR of 27 percent may touch $104 billion, leaving a huge gap for import to the extent of $300 billion.

“India is becoming home to a growing middle-class population. Increasing disposable income has led to increased consumer demand for electronics products specially advanced TVs, mobile phones and computers. This surge is huge which shows a positive outlook for the industry,” the study said.

The study pointed out that domestic production needs to be addressed to meet the government’s vision of turning India into a manufacturing hub. “Demand for electronic products in India is poised for significant growth in the next few years, driven by a strong economic outlook. The Indian electronics and hardware market grew by 8.6 percent year-on-year to reach $75 billion in 2015, driven by rising local demand,” the study said.

The worldwide electronics industry was valued around $1.86 trillion in 2015. The electronics industry, valued at $1.75 trillion, is the largest and fastest growing industry in the world, said the study. The study said India’s total electronics hardware production 2014-15 was estimated at $32.46 billion, representing a share of about 1.5 percent in world electronic hardware production.

“The domestic consumption of electronic hardware in 2014-15 was $63.6 billion, of which 58 percent was fulfilled with imports. With demonetisation adding to the demand for POS (point-of-sale) devices and mobile phones, this demand is going to increase manifolds,” it added.

In addition, investments in electronic manufacturing rose exponentially to Rs 127,880 crore in 2016 from Rs 11,000 crore in June 2014, it said. “This is also due to the government’s efforts to create an enabling policy ecosystem in the sector bringing through initiatives like Make in India and Digital India and providing special focus to schemes like the modified special incentive package scheme (M-SIPS) and electronic development fund (EDF),” it said.

“The industry suggests the government to focus on both infrastructural as well as at the policy level, increased emphasis has to be provided for increasing the percentage of local component manufacturing in India,” it added.

Nigeria Football Officials Set To Hold Two Crisis Meetings; After Defeat to Bafana Bafana

Nigeria football officials will hold two crisis meetings this week following the Super Eagles' 2-0 defeat by South Africa in 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifying.

The Technical and Development Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation will meet with national coach Gernot Rohr on Tuesday morning and then with Nigeria Sports Minister Solomon Dalung later in the day.

Committee chairman Christopher Green said the issue of the World Cup qualifying matches against Cameroon in September will be top of the agenda.

"It was not the result we worked or prayed for, but the truth is we have only lost one of six matches in the series, and this wake-up call has come at the right time. It has also come when we still have the opportunity to rectify things and prepare harder for the remaining matches of the FIFA World Cup qualifying race," Green said.

"Losing to South Africa was never in our calculation, but it has happened. Someone once said that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Now, everyone, including the technical crew and the players, know that we must work harder than we have ever done, dig deeper than we have ever done and show the kind of commitment greater than we have ever shown in the two qualifying campaigns.

"Now, we have to focus squarely on the FIFA World Cup qualifiers because the race to the Cup of Nations will only resume in nine months' time. In two-and-a-half months, we have classical World Cup battles with Cameroon. That is the only issue on our minds at the moment."

The meeting with Dalung, however, will be focused on what went wrong against South Africa, including the reasons for the NFF's inability to clear their allocation of official match balls.

"This is a temporary setback which is surmountable. We need to sit with the Technical Committee and crew to find out the immediate and remote causes of this setback," Dalung said.

"We have very young talented players in the Super Eagles and we trust that with more hard work and determination, this result can be reversed when we go to South Africa.

"This is just the beginning of a long journey. The Super Eagles will definitely be in Cameroon because we can't afford to be absent at the Africa Cup of Nations for a third consecutive time.

"We must do all within our means to support the team when they win and when there's a setback. We will ensure that no stone is left unturned in our pursuit of a ticket to Cameroon."

"We Will Commence on Enforcement of Psychiatric Tests on Traffic Low Offenders" - FRSC Says

The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) has said that it will commence enforcement of psychiatric tests on traffic law offenders in the country with effect from July 1, 2017.

The Corps Marshal , Dr Boboye Oyeyemi , stated this at the opening of a five - day training programme for 22 FRSC officials on traffic safety for non- motorised transportation in Abuja on Monday.

According to a statement by Bisi Kazeem, the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Oyeyemi said the test would focus on four areas of violations including use of phone while driving, traffic light and route violations as well as dangerous driving.

The move, according to him, was necessitated by continued violations in the identified four areas despite efforts by the corps to change the behaviour of motorists through education and enforcement.

Oyeyemi said, “We are worried about the continuous use of phone while driving, traffic light violations, route violations and dangerous driving.

“We have invited the commanding officers for a strategic session on Friday. We will give them full directives to resume the referral of all these classes of offenders to various government hospitals for check of their mental state.

“I think it is an act of irresponsibility for somebody to be driving and be using phone or for a traffic light to stop you and you are jumping the line.

“It means something is wrong with your mental faculty. So, there is need to examine this, to really check whether you are fit to drive, whether you have the mental capability.

“The offender will bear the cost. When they confirm that he is fit, then he will go for retraining programme and pay the fine.”

He argued that the purpose of the
mental examination for offenders was not to generate revenue but to engender attitudinal change.

“Fine is not the issue ; the issue is we need a positive attitudinal change of Nigeria. We cannot continue to be having fatal crashes due to traffic light violations, people jumping the traffic lights, I think it is crass irresponsibility, ” the Corps Marshal stated.

He stated that the FRSC was empowered by its enabling act to undertake the proposed psychiatric examination.

He added, “The Act (FRSC Establishment Act ) is very clear on this. You can challenge it. People have been challenging the act , and that is the beauty of democracy.

2017/2018 NECO Chemistry Practical Answers

NO1)
*Note:*
 Candidates are strongly advised to check which size of pipette was used by their school.

 We used 25cm³

If your school used 20cm³, all you need do is use it in place of 25cm³ anywhere we used it and calculate accordingly

NOTE; :ALL MAKE USE OF YOUR SCHOOL ENDS POINT*

Volume of Pipette used 25.0cm^3

Titration | Rough | First | Second | Third
Final burette reading (cm^3) | 22.50 | 45.10 | 32.65 | 27.60
Intial burette reading (cm^3) | 0.00 | 22.50 | 10.00 | 5.00
Volume of A used (cm^3) | 22.50 | 22.60 | 22.65 | 22.70

1a) Average volume of A = 22.60 + 22.65 + 22.70/3
= 22.65cm^3

1bi) GIVEN: CB = 0.10moldm^-3
VB = 25cm^3
CA = ?
VA = 22.65cm^3

Equation of reaction:

H2C2O4(aq) + 2NaOH(aq) ====> Na2C2O4(aq) + 2H2O(l)

hence, nA = 1
Nb = 2
Using CAVA /CBVB = nA/nB
CA = CBVBnA/VanB
=0.10 × 25 × 1/22.65 × 2
CA = 0.055 moldm^-3
Concentration of A in moldm^-3 = 0.055

1bii) Using:
gram concentration = molar concentration × molar mass

conc. Of A in gdm^-3 = 0.055 × [(1 × 2) + (12 × 2) + (16 × 4)]
= 0.055 × 90
= 4.95gdm^-3

Footballer, Diego Costa Says He Could Still Go To Atletico Madrid

Diego Costa has raised the possibility of signing for Atletico Madrid and joining another club on loan until their transfer ban ends in January.

Diego Costa, who again stressed that Chelsea would make the final decision on his future -- revealed last week that head coach Antonio Conte had told him via text that he was no longer wanted at Stamford Bridge.

His former club Atletico cannot register new players until Jan. 1 after infringing FIFA rules on signing underage players, but they can still make signings and loan them elsewhere until the New Year.

Speaking after Spain's win over Macedonia on Sunday, Costa said Atletico's transfer ban did not rule them out as a potential destination.

"To sign for Atletico does not mean I wouldn't play," the 28-year-old told Spanish radio station Onda Cero. "I could go out on loan.

"Chelsea has to decide my future. I have two years left on my contract. I have to wait for the club's decision. If they want to sell me, I will decide what the best option is. I would love to play for Atletico."

The sense that Costa's days at Chelsea were numbered grew in January, when he was dropped by Conte following a training ground row days after Chinese Super League club Tianjin Quanjian had offered to make him the world's highest-paid footballer.

Tianjin's interest in a potential £76 million move has receded in recent weeks, but Chelsea are keen to get the maximum return from any sale as they prepare to finance a move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, who is valued at £100m.

Asked whether there was still a chance that he could stay, Costa said: "Things don't work like that. If it was a fair fight [for a starting position], I would consider staying, but if it's not I have to leave."

Tech: Sony Xperia XZ Premium Been Selling at Rs 59,990 (Photo)

Sony’s Premium flagship smartphone offering has finally arrived in India. Sony Mobile India today launched its Xperia XZ Premium on Amazon India at Rs 59,990 and it is the second smartphone in the world to pack in a 4K display. As expected, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium will be an Amazon exclusive in the online space, but like every other Sony smartphone will also be available at offline retail stores all over the country starting today.

The smartphone is indeed the second one in the world to pack in smartphone display with a 4K resolution. The first smartphone to pull it off was the Xperia Z5 Premium, that was launched last year alongside the standard Z5 at Rs 62,990 in India.

Just like the Xperia Z5 Premium, the new smartphone comes in a shiny chrome finish and yet again a 4K display. Other features include a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch 4K screen with HDR support and Triluminos display, Gorilla Glass 5 that covers the whole phone, IP68 certification for water and dust, Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, a 3,230 mAh battery with QuickCharge 3.0, USB Type-C and a fingerprint scanner. The handset will be available in Luminous Chrome and Deep Sea Black color options.

The key highlight apart from the 4K display is also Sony’s Motion Eye smartphone camera, one that is also available on the recently launched Xperia XZs.

The new camera can record 960 fps slow motion video which is 4x slower than current smartphone cameras, though slow-mo is captured only at 720p. There is also an anti-distortion shutter which minimizes rolling shutter and a unique memory-stacked sensor. The camera has a 19 MP sensor (1/2.3-inch), a 25 mm f/2.0 lens, a dual-tone flash, predictive and laser autofocus and an RGBC-IR sensor for natural color rendering. The camera can record 4K video with SteadyShot 5-axis digital stabilization.
