"I Wish I Counld Do How Kendall and Her Friends Do" - Kylie Jenner Admits

Despite being one of the most famous faces in the entertainment business, Kylie Jenner expressed jealousy over her sister Kendall.

Speaking on her candid new reality show, Life Of Kylie, on Sunday, the social media star compared her continued adjustment to fame against her supermodel sister and her glamorous pals.

'I see Kendall, Bella (Hadid) and Hailey (Baldwin), they're out here every day, they just put their outfits together, they're made for this,' Kylie admitted - before later stating in the episode that she 'wanted to run away.'

Kylie was evidently downcast as she made the observation in a frank discussion with her best friend Jordyn Woods: 'I just feel like this fame thing is going to come to an end sooner than we think.'

'I just don’t know who I’m doing it for. Sometimes I wish I can do what they (Kendall and friends) do. But that’s not me,' Kylie admitted.

This comes as a surprise given that Kylie has been in the spotlight for ten years after shooting to fame on Keeping Up With The Kardashians at the age of nine.

Lecturers Attack Governor Bello Due To ASUU Ban

Following the purported proscription of the union activities in the Kogi State University, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has said Governor Yahaya Bello does not understand the Nigerian constitution.

The Calabar zone of ASUU comprising the University of Calabar, University of Uyo, Cross River University of Technology, Abia State University, Akwa Ibom State University, Ebonyi State University and the Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo, said the unions were in the exclusive list of the constitution.

In a press briefing in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, ASUU said Bello’s action was ridiculous and a national embarrassment.

Bello had on July 19 reportedly banned the activities of the KSU branch of ASUU following the refusal of the lecturers to call off their six months old strike.

In a statement read on behalf of his colleagues by the Chairman of ASUU, University of Calabar, Dr. Tony Eyang, the union said Bello’s action showed that he had no knowledge of the country’s constitution, which he said, put unions in the exclusive list.

In the statement, which was also endorsed by the zonal coordination of ASUU, Prof. Nsing Ogar, the union said the governor had no such powers to ban the union.

“By purportedly banning ASUU KSU’s activities, Governor Bello has exposed his lack of understanding of the constitutionality of union matters in Nigeria, which belong to the Exclusive Legislative List. The governor has also shown his ignorance of the fact that he has neither the locus nor the power to ban a duly registered union or a part of it and its activities,” it added.

See What Charly Boy Says About Protest Attack

Popular entertainer and activist, Charles Oputa, a.k.a Charly Boy, has said that he was brutalised during the protest organised on Tuesday at the Unity Fountain in Abuja by a coalition of civil society organisations acting under the aegis of ‘Concerned Nigerians’.

Oputa, in a telephone interview with a Punch correspondent, said that one of the anti-riot policemen, who attacked the protesters with tear-gas and water cannons, hit him in the eye with the butt of his rifle.
He said;

  • “We were not even up to 10 people that set out for the Unity Fountain. When we got there, we met close to 200 policemen. Initially they tried to stop us from going further. But we explained to them that ours would be a peaceful demonstration. I gave them the assurance that we were not going to anywhere else and the protest would not be hijacked by hoodlums.

“Before we knew it, they started with the water cannon. Then they tear-gassed us and set their dogs against us. Worried, I went to one of the policemen who was standing near me and asked him why they resorted to such action. Instead of responding to me, he suddenly raised the butt of his gun and hit me in the eye.”

Oputa said he was immediately rushed to a clinic for treatment. But he expressed concern over the health of another victim, a TV journalist, said to be severely beaten up by the police.

“I saw them beating up that man and smashing his camera. I hope they have not killed him,” he said.

However, the self-styled ‘Area Father’ vowed to continue with the protest, in spite of the attack. “We are coming out tomorrow. It is better they kill me now because I will never stop speaking for the masses of this country,”

"Sanctions For Churning Out Hate Songs To Be Unleashed" - Lai Mohammed

The Federal Government, yesterday, vowed to unleash the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC and security agencies against promoters of hate speech and songs now raging in some sections of the country.

lai Muhammad

The vow by the Federal Government came as the NBC vowed to apply appropriate sanctions from the broadcasting code against the broadcasters of the hate songs.

Former governor of Abia State, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, also condemned the anti-Igbo songs fanned in some sections of the North.

Asked to give the Federal Government’s reactions to the anti-Igbo songs, yesterday, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said:

  • "Let me make it very clear, hate speech from anywhere, from any part of the country is what we have been preaching against and I feel that there must be sanctions.

I am sure that the NBC will sanction any broadcast station that broadcasts this kind of hate speeches and I am sure that the security authorities would hound anybody who is found to be engaged in hate speeches in any form.

The government does not just care about hate speeches in the North, the government is against hate speeches anywhere; any form of music anywhere which can be described as hate speech from any part of Nigeria will be penalised, no mistake about that. No part of the country has the right to incite any part of the country against the other,".

"He Is Just A Depressed Loudmouth Suffering From ‘Mouth Diarrhoea’" - Sen Kashamu To Gov Fayose

The senator representing Ogun-east senatorial district under PDP, Sen. Buruji Kashamu has described the governor of Ekiti state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose as a depressed loudmouth suffering from ‘mouth diarrhoea’.

He said this at the party’s South-West stakeholders’ meeting held in Ibadan Oyo state capital.

However, it was reported by ‘Thecable’ that Fayose raised a motion for his expulsion, arguing that him (Buruji Kashamu) was responsible for the challenges confronting the party in the south-west.

According to Buruji, “The truth is: besides the illegality of their so-called resolutions, I do not need the association of Fayose and his cohorts. It is Fayose and his gang that should be avoided by our people.

“He has since been declared a persona non grata and unfit among reasonable and right-thinking members of the society. “Ordinarily, I would not have dignified Fayose with a response since everybody knows him as a depressed loudmouth who is suffering from what the legendary Chief Gani Fawehinmi would describe as ‘mouth diarrhoea’.

He is nothing but an opportunist and a political scavenger whose night time will soon come.

“Fayose wants to be the ‘alpha and omega’ of the PDP in the south-west, whether by hook or crook. But he forgets that leadership is not compelled; it is earned.

And he does not have what it takes to lead the PDP even in Ekiti state, let alone the south-west. For now, he can only aspire and pretend to the leadership. In a couple of months, the Pharaoh that we see today, we shall him no more. He finally said”

Meet 91yrs Old Grandma Who Emerges The Oldest University Graduate In Thailand (Photos)

A 91-year-old woman became the oldest person to graduate from university in Thailand on Wednesday, receiving her bachelor's degree from King Maha Vajiralongkorn.

Escorted by her family, Kimlun Jinakul travelled more than 700 kilometers from the northern province of Phayao to Sukhothai Thammathirat Open University, near Bangkok, to receive her bachelor's degree in human ecology.

"It has always been my dream to continue my studies," Kimlun told local TV station Thai PBS, adding that she had finished junior high school but couldn't continue her education at the time because her family couldn't finance it.

"When I was young, I actually received good grades," she said. "I have always enjoyed reading. I even bought manuals to educate myself so I could help my children with their homework."

Kimlun said she became inspired to continue her formal studies in 2011, once her children and grandchildren had received university educations and found decent jobs.

"It's never too late to study," she said.

"She is a very determined person," said Bhum Juasiripakdee, one of Kimlun's grandchildren. "We all support her while making sure she remains in good health."

The university said Kimlun had not received any special treatment in terms of grading. In fact, she failed half of her courses and had to retake examinations several times.

"But the university provided me with a lot of convenience," Kimlun said. "They allocated rooms on the ground floor for me so I did not have to climb the stairs."

The university is the first in Thailand to offer distance learning to elderly people. Almost 200 people older than 60 have enrolled.
