Terrorist Blow Themselves Up Rather Than Surrender To Police (Photo)

This is the moment a suspected terrorist cell opted to blow themselves up rather than surrender to police.

Police had tracked the four extremists to a house in the village of Psedach in south western Russia's Republic of Ingushetia, where they ordered the men to surrender.

However, rather than give themselves up, the group opted to set of a bomb which destroyed their hideout, killing all four of them.

The gang of extremists had been hunted by the Russian secret services in connection with the attempted murder of policemen.

Federal Security Service operatives surrounded their hideout, and the group began shooting at the officers, who returned fire.

Photos show how the huge explosion from their suicide bombs ripped the roof off the little cottage.

No one else was injured in the blast, which was captured in footage taken by Russian national anti-terrorism committee.

The terrorists were believed to be members of the Khunzakh militant group.

"Igbo Can Now Stay" - Arewa Youths Withdrawn Quit Notice

The Coalition of Northern Groups has withdrawn the quit notice given to the Igbo living in the North to leave before October 1.

The withdrawal of the quit notice was announced in Abuja on Thursday evening by the leaders of the group at a press conference.

Before the announcement was made, members of the group had met with the Governor of Borno State, who is also the Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum,  Mallam Ibrahim Shettima and a former governor of Kano State, Alhaji Kabiru Gaya.

Also in attendance at the meeting were ex-minister Sani Daura and the Leader of Arewa Youths Council, Alhaji Shettima Yerima and a  Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo.

The group said it decided to withdraw the threat as a result of what it described as intense persuasive pressure from concerned political, traditional and religious leaders in the country.

A member of the Northern Emancipation Network, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, read the text of the press conference.

He said, “Most significance was our correspondence with the then Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and most recently our interface with the Presidency through the Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, Babafemi Ojudu.

“As a consequence of these vigorous engagements and as a cultured people with a tradition of respect for our nation’s values, leaders and elders, we are today pleased to announce the immediate suspension of the relocation clause otherwise referred to as the quit notice from the Kaduna Declaration.”

Suleiman said that the group was not afraid of sticking with the notice, but said that the suspension was as a result of the respect the group had for a “united, peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.”

The text was signed by leaders of the 14 groups, including Yerima, the leader of Youth Consultative Forum who read the Kaduna Declaration, where the quit notice was given.

Even with the withdrawal of the quit notice, Suleiman said that the group would still pursue its petition to the United Nations and the call on the Federal Government to mete appropriate sanction to the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra,  Nnamdi Kanu.

He equally called “for the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu and for his appropriate prosecution while calling on the Senate to demand that all senators who stood surety for him in court should rescind their bond or be suspended accordingly.”

The group further promised to “remain available for further interaction with other groups including those from the South-East with a view to building a greater united Nigeria.”

In his short speech, Governor Shettima commended the group for suspending the quit notice order, adding that the concern of the northern governors was to prevent people from hiding under the notice to harm other Nigerians.

He said there was no need to withdraw the quit notice via a statement, adding that “we are here to ensure that the quit notice was publicly withdrawn the same way it was made publicly.”

According to the governor, the order would have been withdrawn earlier than now but to avoid any division within the groups.

“I am proud of Nigerians and I am also proud of the Igbo,” he said, noting that the hope of the black man rests on a united Nigeria.

"Release Our Indigenes Held For Illegal Hawking In Lagos" - Ebonyi To Ambode

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has called on the Lagos State Government to release 180 Ebonyi indigenes held in Lagos for hawking.

Umahi made the call on Thursday in Abakaliki, when he received a delegation of Ebonyi indigenes residing in Onitsha, Anambra, who visited him over the plight of some indigenes of the town.

Umahi, represented by his deputy, Dr Kelechi Igwe, said the government was dismayed by the report from the Ebonyi Development Association in Lagos concerning incarcerated 180 indigenes.

“The 180 victims were accused of contravening a law of the Lagos State Government on street trading, but the intriguing aspect is that they had been incarcerated before the law was enacted.

“Most of them had spent over two years in incarceration before the law was enacted, but they were unfortunately charged under the same law.

“I will immediately consult and interact with my Lagos counterpart to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of the victims,” he said.

The governor said the days of treating Ebonyi citizens as second-class citizens in the country were over, saying the government would extend its empowerment schemes to its indigenes residing across the country.

“The government would immediately procure over 130 tricycles to enable hawkers of Ebonyi origin in Onitsha and environs to quit the trade and be gainfully employed.

“We would accommodate over 20 indigenes in Onitsha in our empowerment scheme, which would offer them a grant of N250,000 each, to quit street trading and be gainfully employed.

The leader of the delegation and the governor’s Senior Technical Assistant, Onitsha Liaison Office, Mr Mathew Njoku, thanked the governor for the reception and pledged to contribute its quota to the state’s development.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I Will Even Be Better Upon My Manchester United return

Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he will be even better upon his Manchester United return and expects "great things" in Jose Mourinho's second season at the club.
The 35-year-old has re-signed for United on a one-year contract as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury sustained in April.
However, he says he is feeling strong as his comeback progresses and is motivated to return to Old Trafford as a "better version" of the player who scored 28 goals in 46 games last season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in 46 games last season

"I feel good. I have trained every day since I had my knee operated on, there is no vacation," he told www.manutd.com.
"It's a new challenge for me obviously but I am strong mentally and when I focus on an objective nothing can stop me. It doesn't matter what's in my way I will break everything to reach my goal.
"When I come back to play football on the field I will be better than before. I am not coming back because I am the one I am, I am coming back to be a better version of the old one. Imagine how that will be."

Ibrahimovic's return will see the striker join up with Mourinho again after the pair worked together previously at Inter Milan before being reunited last summer.
The Portuguese has won the league title in his second season at Porto, Chelsea (on two occasions), Inter and Real Madrid and Ibrahimovic believes this campaign will be an exciting one for United.
"What he has brought to the club and the team is the winning mentality. He knows what he is doing. He has been doing this before and wherever he went he won," he said. "He's a winner and I'm happy to be in that environment, that is what I stand for and what I like to be around.

Ibrahimovic’s return will see the striker work with Jose Mourinho again

"We have to remember the second year of Mourinho is always the best one. This year will be very exciting and with these new players the team is stronger and I expect us to do great things.
"I think the pressure is even higher from last season and with the new players the team is better. We lost [Wayne] Rooney which is a big loss, but with the three new players, I think the team is stronger than last season.
"The aim is the same as last season, we go for every trophy we play for. That is what I came to United for, to lift these trophies and have those happy moments. This is something I used to see when I saw Manchester United. The hard work we are putting down means the results will come in the end."

The former PSG and Barcelona player also praised the city of Manchester's passion for football and even joked that rival Man City fans switch allegiances when they see him.
"It's amazing, the passion for it," he said. "Wherever you go you see a fan, and the thing is with United we have fans everywhere.

Ibrahimovic poses after re-signing with Manchester United

"So when I walk into the city I always see a red shirt. Hearing them talk about their club, talking about yourself, the players... you see that they have a big passion for football and that gives you extra motivation and extra happiness.
"When I see City fans, or when they see me, they turn into United fans, so that is a great thing that has happened to the city!"

5 Useful Social Skills Everyone Should Know

Social skills are an extremely important set of skills everyone should learn. There are some social skills that are so essential, you absolutely cannot do without them. Jumia Travel shares 5 extremely useful social skills to know.

Ability to Remain Calm
It is harder to think clearly when you’re agitated or unsettled, therefore, it is extremely important that you learn how to remain calm in all situations. Learning how to calm yourself in volatile situations is an extremely useful social skill that can save you a lot of trouble and avoidable stress-related health issues.

Know How to Build Rapport
Regardless of how introverted you might be, you need to learn how to build rapport with others around you because no man can live as an island, and you will eventually need people. Knowing how to build rapport is not a talent, it is a social skill that can be learnt. The only thing is that, depending on personality type, some people just need to put more effort into it than others.

Know the Difference Between Being Assertive and Aggressive
There really is a thin line between the two, this is why it is so important as a social skill to be aware of the difference between them. It’s okay to passionately share your opinion and stand your ground on it, but you need to be aware and ready to check yourself if you find yourself bordering on insulting or offensive. At that point, you have already entered into the zone of aggression.

Learn to Be Flexible and Cooperative
We live in a world with billions of people, and the fact is we won’t all have the same opinions or point of view. If you don’t want to end up fighting everyone you meet, you need to learn to be flexible and cooperative. You may feel that your way is the best way, but it important to still remain open to the suggestions and contributions of others. Be flexible enough to compromise when you need to, because no matter how intelligent or self-sufficient you are, you will need other people to get ahead in life. You can’t do it all by yourself. You should therefore be open to sharing ideas, making necessary compromises and being flexible all together.

Learn How to Communicate
Communication is more or less an art (though there are some that argue it is a science), and the truth is that there are many ways to communicate, you only need to be sensitive to the best means of communication to use in different situations for different people. You should learn when best to communicate face-to-face and when to communicate through written words. You should keep in mind that written words carry little or no emotion, so it really shouldn’t be your choice communication channel when communicating emotional or deeply moving subjects.

NPF Dismiss And Arraign Officer Who Let UNIPORT Ritual Killer Flee Police Net

The Rivers State Police Command has dismissed a police sergeant, Johnbosco Okoroeze, for allegedly aiding the escape of a suspected ritual killer, Ifeanyi Dike, from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Port Harcourt.

Okoroeze, who was also arraigned by the police before a chief magistrate’s court on two counts bordering on obstruction of justice and conspiracy, was remanded in custody for the alleged offences.

The Chief Magistrate, Sokari Andrew-Jaja, cautioned him as he cried uncontrollably inside the court before his case was mentioned.

Punch
had reported that the prime suspect, Dike, defiled, killed and removed the organs of one Miss Victory Nmezuwuba, before he was arrested and taken to the SCIID.

Okoroeze, who was the Investigating Police Officer, had removed the suspect’s handcuffs while he took his statements.

The victim’s father, Dr Ernest Nmezuwuba, who was also in the charge room at the time, had said he used candlelight while making his statements, adding that there was no power supply in the area.

The suspect was reported to have fled the SCIID under the cover of darkness and his whereabouts had remained unknown.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ahmed Zaki, had ordered the dismissal and arraignment of Okoroeze for criminal conspiracy.

The accused, who was brought to the magistrate’s court in handcuffs, cried profusely on the premises.

“What have I done to myself? What did I do? Call my wife for me,” he said.

The charges read, “That you, Johnbosco Okoroeze, on August 19, 2017, at about 8.30pm at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Port Harcourt, in the Port Harcourt Magisterial District, did assist one Ifeanyi Dike, who is to your knowledge guilty of the offence of murder of one Chikamso Nmezuwuba, aged eight years, for rituals, to escape when he was to be detained for prosecution, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 322 of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol. II, Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria, 1999.

“That you, Johnbosco Okoroeze, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did conspire with a suspect, Ifeanyi Dike, and allowed him to escape from prosecution to prevent and defeat the course of justice, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 126 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 37, Vol. II, Laws of Rivers State of Nigeria 1999.”

The chief magistrate observed that while the first charge could earn Okoroeze a life sentence if found guilty, the second charge could earn the dismissed police sergeant a seven-year jail term if found guilty.

Andrew-Jaja, who immediately declined jurisdiction of the court to handle the matter, directed the court registrar to transfer the case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

The chief magistrate then remanded the suspect in prison, just as he adjourned the matter till September 14, 2017 for adoption of written addresses.

Meanwhile, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, said one of the sponsors of the prime suspect, Dike, had been arrested.

'*I wonder what transpired that led this wicked man to aid the release of a ritual killer?how much was he given?OMG!!!
They should check his bank balance and see who and when the last pay in was made.
