In Nigeria music category, the top spot was dominated by the leader of the 30 Billion Gang, Davido as he had four of his songs on the list of top ten most searched songs in Nigeria for 2018. But mind you the Number 1 Most Searched Song for the year 2018 is going to surprise you.

(10) Davido – Fia
Despite been released since last year, 2017, the single still found its way to the list of most searched songs in Nigeria for 2018. The single was produced by DMW’s in-house producer Fresh VDM and was released following the controversial death of the singer’s friends DJ Olu and Tagbo.
(9) Starboy – Soco
It is safe to say that Soco is the biggest song of the year 2018. The song was produced by Northboi and it was released on the 20th of February, 2018 and featured Terri, Spotless, Ceeza Milli and Wizkid. As at July this year, Google initially released a list of most searched keywords in Nigeria and Soco was among them and fast forward to the end of the year Soco is still among the most searched song in Nigeria.
(8) Wizkid – Manya
Number eight on the list is Starboy again and it is for Manya. Manya was released on the 15th of November last year 2017 and it is still waxing strong as it cops the number eight position on the list of most searched songs in Nigeria for the year 2018. Manya was produced by The Cap Music producer Killertunes.
(7) Burna Boy – Gbona
When the Gbedu dey enter body! The Gbedu really enter body o as Gbona takes the number 7 spot on the list of most searched songs in Nigeria 2018. Gbona was released on the 25th of September 2018 and it was produced by Kel P while the music video was directed by Clarence Peters.
(6) Kizz Daniel & Davido – One Ticket
Despite being released towards the end of the year, the song still ended up among the most searched songs on google in Nigeria for the year 2018. One Ticket by Kizz Daniel and Davido was released on the 1st of November 2018 and it was produced by Major Bangz and the music video was released on the 3rd of November 2018 and was directed by Ovie Etseyatse.
(5) Davido – Nwa Baby
Davido cops another spot on the list again as his single “Nwa Baby” comes through as the 5th most searched song on google in Nigeria for the year 2018. The song was released on the 10th of August 2018 and it was produced by Fresh VDM & Speroach. The music video was released on the 10th of August, 2018 and it was directed by Meji Alabi. (4) Olamide - Motigbana
The YBNL Nation boss, Olamide Adedeji takes up the number 4 position on the list of most searched songs on google in Nigeria for the year 2018. The song was produced by Killertunes and it was released on the 15th of August 2018. The music video for the song was directed by Unlimited L.A and it was released on the same day in which the song was released.
(3) Olamide – Science Student
Olamide cops another spot again on the list again and this time around it’s for his single “Science Student” as it emerges as the number 3 on the list. Science student was released on the 11th of January this year and the song was produced by Young John and B Banks.
(2) Davido – Assurance
Davido took the Nigeria internet by storm as he went about publicly professing his love for his girlfriend, Chioma. He was in love, so much that he dedicated a song (Assurance) to his lover and fans were eager to listen. So it doesn’t come as a surprise to see Assurance as the second most searched song in Nigeria for the year 2018. The song was released on the 3oth of April 2018 and it was produced by Speroach Beatz and the music video was premiered on the 1st of May 2018 and it was directed by Meji Alabi and featured Chioma as the video vixen.
(1) Wizkid – Fever
Starboy Call Me Number 1!! Wizkid leads the list as his single fever comes through as the most searched song in Nigeria on Google for the year 2018. We all can agree that the controversial music video also helped in achieving the feat as the singer enlist Mavin Records/323 Entertainment singer and songwriter Tiwa Savage as the Video Vixen for the music video and in no time the song claimed a spot on the top of the Chart. The single was released on the 1st of October and it was produced by Blaq Jerzee, while the music video was premiered on the 23rd of October 2018 and it was directed by Meji Alabi.
