Gernot Rohr‘s Contract Has Been Extended – NFF Declares

Gernot-Rohr-Contract-Has-Been-Extended-NFF-Declares-Teelamford
The Nigeria Football Federation has finally confirmed they have extended the contract of Gernot Rohr as the coach of Super Eagles, putting Harry Redknapp’s rumors to sleep.

The NFF president, Amaju Pinnick announced on Wednesday via Twitter that both parties have finalised contractual negotiations resulting in the German tactician remaining with the Super Eagles.

I’m happy to announce that the Nigeria Football Federation and Coach Gernot Rohr have concluded all contractual discussions and he will stay on as Coach of the Super Eagles. We have always had confidence in his abilities and we are confident that the national team can only go higher from here.

We can now focus on qualifying for the World Cup and winning the Nations Cup. In truth, these are sacrosanct and Coach Rohr is aware of these conditions. Like the Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development has rightly noted; we are uncompromising in these goals.

The board of the Federation & I are totally in agreement with the minister on the goals for the team and it is unwavering. In the same vein, I would like to thank our sponsors, especially AITEO group.

AITEO’s support for our football is unquantifiable, even in these difficult times and I cannot stress enough, how much of a rock they have been. Thank you, AITEO.

With the distraction of the contract talks out of the way now, we can now face our football on the pitch, totally. Again, I never lost confidence in Gernot Rohr’s ability to take our football forward and I’m convinced our football will only get better from here on.

Effective Ways to Make Staying at Home Lively For Kids

Experts agree that play has a profound impact on childhood learning and advocate that schools incorporate a healthy playtime for children into educational routines.

The foundation for such a widely shared belief follows that play doubles as a time when children interact with and accord relevance to the world around them.

With many schools on lockdown and children at home as the world continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic, parents may be running out of ideas for playtime.

The Google Assistant offers a variety of ways to tap into your ward’s daily routine and monitor their exposure to the internet while they are at home.

By using the Family Link app from Google, parents could stay in the loop as children explore on their devices. Here are a few ways to play with your kids.

Start with questions

There are so many questions your child can ask Google Assistant just to get acquainted. While it is known to answer lots of voice command queries, it also has a humorous side that makes it fun.

You could ask the Google Assistant: “Can you sing?”, “Do you have children?”, “What do you like to eat?”, “What are you wearing?” and “Can you beatbox?” for some family entertainment.

Play Games

With Google Assistant, you can get kids to start playing fun games. Simply ask it to show you game options for kids. For example, you could try out ‘Mad Libs’ where they can start a word game.

Other fun games include ‘Santa Quiz: A Santa Trivia Game’, ‘Multiplication Test’, ‘Peppa Pig quiz’, ‘Disney Z’, ‘Kids Court’. These games allow for learning while they are played.

Listen to a story

You could also let your assistant tell your children stories. They can listen to interactive stories from a variety of story options like Frozen Stories where the kids join Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Kristoff around the campfire as they tell legends exploring the world of ‘Frozen 2’.

There is also Strangest Day Ever, where children get to travel back in time or meet an a-‘moo’-sing alien and Smart StoryTeller that teaches moral lessons.

Get a riddle

Riddles during playtime can be so much fun for your kids. By asking the Google Assistant to tell you a riddle, you get a riddle and the answer follows.

Riddles come up and you can always request one more to keep the fun going like “What has a lot of keys but can’t open any doors?” and “What’s harder to catch the faster you run?”

Get interesting facts

By asking the Google Assistant to share an interesting fact, you could immediately get one like the fact that camels do not store water in their humps, though many people think so.

There’s also that the national anthem of Greece is the longest in the world or that strawberries are not actually berries but bananas and tomatoes are.

OAU Gets NUC’s Full Accreditation For Law, Dentistry, BMS and Social Sciences, Two Years After Suspension

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has given full accreditation to all the academic programmes in the faculties of law, dentistry, basic medical sciences and social sciences of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

According to NAN, Abiodun Olarewaju, the institution’s public relations officer (PRO), broke the news in a statement on Wednesday.

Reacting to the accreditation, Eyitope Ogunbodede, vice-chancellor of the university, commended the commitment of the Abubakar Rasheed-led commission for enhancing the standard of education in the country’s institutions to meet global practices.

He also appreciated what he called the team spirit of the institution’s governing council, led by Yemi Ogunbiyi, the senate as well as all the departments, faculties and alumni associations.

According to reports, it was also learnt that Ogunbodede disclosed that their commitments assisted in much greater measure in putting all the necessary facilities in place, which eventually culminated in the accreditation of all the courses, particularly those with initial outright denial or partial accreditation.

In his words, he said;
“With the latest accreditation of 42 undergraduate programmes, all the 107 programmes in the university are now accredited”.
He went on to call on stakeholders in the education sector to do all within their powers to assist the university in putting in place more structures and infrastructure.

The development comes about two years after the NUC had suspended the university’s law, dentistry, medical rehabilitation, and botany programmes.
