HILARIOUS! My Husband Fainted When Our Son Was Delivered – Toyin Abraham

Nollywood actress, filmmaker and producer, Toyin Abraham, has revealed that her husband, Kolawole Ajeyemi fainted after they had their son, Ire.

In a chat with Vanguard Allure, the actress whose son will be turning one in a few weeks said;
“I actually recorded everything because I had a caesarean section. I was given an injection that numbed my back. I know I was having an operation but didn’t feel it, I was just talking. I remembered the moment they brought my baby out, my husband saw him and fainted. It was a sweet experience. It wasn’t easy but we thank God.

Motherhood has really changed a lot about me. Even before I had my baby, my husband had already changed me. Motherhood is like icing on the cake. It has really changed my mentality, my thinking; in fact it has changed everything about me. Now I know I am living for someone. I am living for something.”
Speaking further on how the Covid-19 has affected her and her income, she said “It’s not easy, trust me. I can’t even work. You know it’s easy for older children to say ‘mummy, I have a headache’ but for a baby, she cannot tell you how she is feeling. As for work, it’s just my husband who has been working for now. But when I have shoots and some endorsements, I go. When I do, I go with my thermometer and hand sanitizer. Once I get home, I quickly take my shoes off and wash my hands. I must confess it hasn’t been easy at all.

It has really affected us in the movie industry. My new movie Fate of Alakada which I shot in collaboration with Filmone, cost close to 45 Million. I put almost all my money into that project which was an investment: and now, they said the cinema can’t open. So, my whole investment is stuck somewhere and we are not shooting like before. Everybody is just being careful.

Some production outfits, when you want to work with them, they would insist on you taking a Coronavirus test and I heard the test is painful. So, it has really affected us.

Leader of Dreaded ‘One Million Boys’ Reportedly Shot Dead in Oyo state

A leader of a notorious gang, Biola Ebila, has been killed in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital after a reported gun duel between him and a rival gang, Vanguard reports.

Until his death, the warlord was the leader of a dreaded ‘one million boys,’ a violent gang that has caused violence in the state.

He was also on the wanted list of the Oyo state police command over his alleged involvement in the killing of a leader of another notorious gang, Ekugbemi some weeks ago.

Another source quoted in the report, however, claimed that the gang leader was shot by security agents when he was resisting arrest.

While confirming his death, the police spokesman in Oyo state SP Gbenga Fadeyi said the corpse of the notorious gang leader was brought to the police in a tricycle on Sunday, July 12.

“I don’t have information yet about the cause of his death. His boys have been making frantic efforts to prevent the police from having access into that Kudeti area for many days.”

“Our men had been dispatched to the area to investigate the incident. When properly briefed, we shall be able to give a detailed account of what actually happened. For now, I cannot tell you much,” he said.

In recent times, Nigeria has been bewildered with a series of major security challenges threatening to throw the nation into crisis.

Groups like ‘one million boys’ in some parts of the country, terrorise innocent citizens as security agencies seem overwhelmed.

Ranging from kidnapping, armed banditry, killings, abductions and terrorist attacks these and many other constitutes of the major form of insecurity Nigeria as a country is currently facing.

Experts say the insecurity challenge in Nigeria has assumed a formidable dimension that not only requires a multistakeholder approach in quelling the situation, but also necessitates a revival and reinforcement of moral values and virtues.

Nigerian leaders and politicians have been asked to evince and uphold moral values and virtues in all their conduct in order to lead by example and to avoid heating up the polity unnecessarily by their conducts and comments which sometimes incite violence in their followers.

Former NDDC Director Accuses Minister Of Niger Delta Akpabio Of Financial Impropriety

Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio Minister of Niger Delta, has been accused of financial impropriety by a former Acting Managing Director of the commission.

Dr. Gbene Joy Nunieh alleges that Akpabio deceived members of the public with the false reason for her sack from the office.

She revealed that the former governor sacked her because she refused to swear to a secret oath.

According to reports, Senator Akpabio had alleged that Nunieh’s sack bordered on sharp practices and unverified contracts payment running into billions of Naira but she denied the Minister’s allegation, saying he wanted her to take an oath of Secrecy to perpetrate corrupt practices so as to stop her from spilling the beans.

She also called the Minister a pathological liar and disclosed that her sack was also due to her blunt refusal to approve unusual payments for his numerous contracts; without verification from Akwa Ibom State and his other loyal contractors.

In a media interview, Nunieh challenged Senator Akpabio to tell the media the real reason for which she was sacked stressing that the allegations that she was sacked due to sharp practices in NDDC were unfounded and baseless.

She also disclosed that when she left the saddle as Ag. MD, she left billions of naira in the coffers of the NDDC.

Nunieh further alleged that the Minister wanted her to divert NDDC funds to sponsor his presidential ambition in 2023, which she bluntly refused.

“The crux of my problem with Senator Akpabio was simply because of my refusal to take an oath of secrecy; and pay his phoney Akwa Ibom contractors.

“My other offence was that I turned down Akpabio’s request to sponsor his 2023 presidential ambition; with the commonwealth of the people of Niger Delta; meant to carry out developmental projects in the oil-producing, but suffering communities.

“I could not join Akpabio to steal the money of Niger Delta people as I am the highest traditional title holder in Ogoniland in Rivers State; and I could not please Akpabio and offend the Almighty God”, she said.
Nunieh further revealed that “Akpabio wanted to compel me to swear to an oath of secrecy; and loyalty in the presence of other two top NDDC male officials.

“He tried to do that on about three consecutive times; and I looked at his face and bluntly told him no, that the God I serve is bigger than his secret oath.
I refused to join him in his oath of secrecy to cover him by signing fake contract documents.
He has been running a campaign of calumny to discredit or tarnish my hard-earned reputation.
I know why I am saying this because is morally unfit to hold any sensitive public office in the country.”

Reacting to the allegations levelled against him by the sacked MD, Senator Akpabio said: ”I sacked her because she did not perform up to expectation; by paying unverified contracts money running to billions of Naira.

“Majority of the contracts are water hyacinth distilling. Some are without due process. She was bringing embarrassment to the commission; which I am bent on sanitizing through forensic auditing.”

DSS Denies Arresting of EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu

The Department of State Services (DSS) has denied reports that it arrested Ibrahim Magu, the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Peter Afunanya, the spokesperson for the DSS made the clarification on Monday, July 6, after reports emerged that Magu was arrested by its operatives, PR Nigeria reported.

The EFCC also disclosed that Magu was only invited by a panel to Aso Rock questioning.

The Nation newspaper had reported that the panel which summoned Magu was probing the activities of the agency.

He was reportedly served the invitation to the panel, while on his way to the police headquarters, Abuja for a meeting.

The EFCC boss is said to be undergoing questioning at the villa by the probe panel over allegations that he diverted looted funds.

Magu’s reported probe comes a few days after Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), accused the anti-graft boss of gross misconduct, The Cable reported.

The AGF had asked President Muhammadu Buhari to sack Magu over some allegations, including the diversion of recovered loot.

Malami also accused the acting EFCC chairman of insubordination and misconduct.

According to The Cable, EFCC boss was said to have travelled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, without the authorisation of the president during the lockdown.

Third Mainland Bridge will Likely to be Under Repairs From July 24

The Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, Olukayode Popoola, on Monday said consultations were on for another phase of repairs to begin on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Consultations are ongoing for the next phase of repair works to begin on the 11.8km bridge, and work will commence on the outward mainland section of the bridge. The ministry is working with relevant agencies to perfect traffic during the period, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

We want to do maintenance work on the Third Mainland Bridge very soon. Most likely on the 24th. We may close it from the 24th of July. We are still working out the modalities and when we perfect the traffic management plan we will move to site. Everything being expected for the repairs of the bridge arrived the country that is why we want to start the repairs now.

The bridge was recently under an investigative maintenance check, in August 2018, which lasted for three days. However, “some components needed for completion of repairs were sourced abroad because they were not available locally”.

Hopefully, alternative routes will be provided soonest so motorists in Lagos who ply the bridge will begin making arrangements.

BREAKING: DSS Arrests EFCC Acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu

Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, has been arrested by the Department of State Services.

He was arrested over allegations that he owns four properties and that he was allegedly transferring funds abroad through a third party.

He was arrested at the Wuse II office of the DSS on Monday afternoon and is now undergoing interrogation at the DSS Headquarters In Aso Drive.
The DSS in a 2016 report revealed that accused of living in a N40m mansion paid for by one Umar Mohammed, a retired air commodore who is allegedly involved in shady deals.

“In December 2010, the Police Service Commission (PSC) found Magu guilty of action prejudicial to state security – withholding of EFCC files, sabotage, unauthorised removal of EFCC files and acts unbecoming of a police officer, and awarded him severe reprimand as punishment.

“Magu is currently occupying a residence rented for N40m at N20m per annum. This accommodation was not paid [for] from the commission’s finances, but by one Umar Mohammed, air commodore retired, a questionable businessman who has subsequently been arrested by the secret service.

“For the furnishing of the residence, Magu enlisted the Federal Capital Development Authority to award a contract to Africa Energy, a company owned by the same Mohammed, to furnish the residence at the cost of N43m.

“Investigations show that the acting EFCC chairman regularly embarked on official and private trips through a private jet owned by Mohammed.

“In one of such trips, Magu flew to Maiduguri alongside Mohammed with a bank MD who was being investigated by the EFCC over complicity in funds allegedly stolen by the immediate past petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
