Bail granted to Faisal Maina, the son of former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reformed Task Team Abdulrasheed Maina who jumped bail, has been revoked by an Abuja federal high court which also ordered his arrest for jumping bail in his trial on money laundering charges.
Justice Okon Abang who disclosed that his trial on money laundering charges would proceed in absentia pending his arrest, also summoned his surety, a member of the House of Representatives, Sani Umar Dangaladima representing the Kaura-Namoda Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, to appear in court to show cause why he should not forfeit the N60m bail bond which he signed for the ex-pension boss’ son.
The order for Faisal’s arrest was granted after EFCC’s prosecution counsel, Mohammed Abubakar notified the court that the defendant and his surety had not attended court since June 24, 2020.
At the court proceeding on Tuesday November 24 which neither Faisal, his surety, nor his lawyer attended, Abubakar applied for the revocation of his bail which was granted by Justice Abang. He also adjourned the case till Wednesday November 25.
This is coming few days after same court ordered the arrest of Faisal’s father, Abdulrasheed Maina for jumping bail in his ongoing N2.1bn money laundering trial.

This year’s 100 Women is highlighting those who are leading change and making a difference during these turbulent times.
The list includes UK nurse, Professor Dame Elizabeth Anionwu, who is of Nigerian descent.
She is an emeritus professor of nursing at the University of West London and a patron of the UK Sickle Cell Society.
She is a groundbreaking sickle-cell and thalassemia nurse who campaigned for a statue of British-Jamaican nurse Mary Seacole. She’s been a key figure in highlighting the disproportionate impact of Covid-19 on BAME communities.
Uyaiedu Ipke-Etim, a Nigerian feminist film-maker, director and LGBTQ+ activist, who has committed herself to creating stories about marginalised groups in Nigeria, also made it to the list.
Her film If??, which means “love” in Yoruba, tells the story of two Nigerian lesbians navigating the harsh, homophobic realities of Nigeria. Following the announcement of the film’s impending release, it has faced state censorship in Nigeria.
Aisha Yesufu, a Nigerian activist demanding good governance in Nigeria, also made it to the list.
Others on the list are: four-time Grammy award winner Angélique Kidjo, who advocates on behalf of children as a Unicef ambassador, Sanna Marin, who leads Finland’s all-female coalition government, Michelle Yeoh, star of the new Avatar and Marvel films and Sarah Gilbert, who heads the Oxford University research into a coronavirus vaccine, as well as Jane Fonda, a climate activist and actress.
And in an extraordinary year – when countless women around the world have made sacrifices to help others – one name on the 100 Women list has been left blank as a tribute.
The Recording Academy made the announcement hours before the nominees for the upcoming show are revealed.
“Despite the fact that I am extremely disappointed that the GRAMMYs have refused to have me sing or be nominated for best pop album, I am thrilled to be hosting this auspicious event,” Noah said in a statement.
“I think as a one-time GRAMMY nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award! (This is a metaphorical shoulder, I’m not trying to catch Corona). See you at the 63rd GRAMMYs!”
Harvey Mason jr., chair and interim president/CEO of the Recording Academy, said: “With a knack for keeping viewers engaged and entertained, Trevor is the perfect choice to lead us through what’s sure to be an incredible evening full of music, unforgettable moments, unity and inspiration. He is a dynamic host, comedian and personality, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to the Grammy stage as host of Music’s Biggest Night for the first time.”
George Cheeks, CBS Entertainment Group president and CEO, added: “Trevor’s comedy talents, engaging energy and unique perspective make him the perfect host for the Grammys. At the same time, it’s very exciting to have one of our biggest ViacomCBS stars center stage for one of CBS’ marquee events. With Trevor hosting and ‘The Late Late Show’s’ Ben Winston producing, it’s yet another example of our combined company’s power in music, entertainment, and the biggest live events.”
The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. The Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony will be streamed live on GRAMMY.com at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT.
Pissetzky made this known during an interview with Forbes, as he insists that his client is a businessman who operates legal and registered businesses.
In his words,
“Ramon Abass, aka Hushpuppi is absolutely not guilty of all the charges they are accusing him of. Abass was running a very legitimate business and had a very legitimate Instagram account and did not take part in any scam or fraud.
He is an entrepreneur, he has real estate business and was promoting brands, that’s how he was very legitimately making his money.”
Hushpuppi was apprehended months ago in Dubai and extradited to the United States for allegedly being part of a network that swindled “hundreds of millions of dollars” from business email compromise frauds and other scams.
The Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed was also called out by the American news network which stated that there’s been shifting narratives since the shooting.
Videos of those who sustained injuries from the shooting were also shown as they recounted how it happened. CNN concluded by stating that it stands by its previous report of the Nigerian army shooting unarmed protesters, in spite of Lai Mohammed alleging that they were misinformed.

Charly Boy
has now responded. He said he was amused by his daughter’s public
condemnation because it’s the same way he and his father – former
Supreme Court justice Chukwudifu Oputa – butted heads before he was able
to be independent. “Lion no fit born goat,
” he added. He asked Dewy to forgive him and promised to allow her tell her story and to respect her perspectives.
He wrote:
"My Dear Dewy, I know the last few days may have been tough for you flowing from my Friday post “For Parents Only” on my Instagram. I apologize if my post rubbed you the wrong way, for this I am deeply sorry, my bad. Forgive me. But Honestly, I was talking to parents trying to get them to understand that they-can only give good advice or put their children on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands. I came into parenting the way most of us did — knowing nothing but trying to learn everything, becos, who no go no fit know. The journey of parenthood is an emotional roller-coaster, filled with happiness, sadness, worries, frustration, pride, excitement and much more. Parenting is an amazing adventure. When people dey yab me say you dey tackle me for social media, I just dey laff. I dey laff bcos Na so I tackle my papa before I collect my independence. Lion no fit born goat. Never forget that the Oputa’s are very special people, and in you I see me. Since Saturday morning I have received thousands of phone calls from parents and young people who feel disconnected with their parents. Their testimony has been quite insightful. I was only able to offer a listening ear and soothing words, but I feel taller because our story inspired thousands. That’s a good thing. My darling, I promise to allow you tell your story like I have been able to tell mine. I respect your perspectives and I understand. I brought you all up as Global Kids and not as timid village champions. Let’s just go back to the friendship we have been working on. I love you and no one can contest, not even you. My Charly Girl Princess Dewy Daddy’s Totori".
